Download and install the script enabler at this thread - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=949085

Then see these two threads on how to turn on the "External data provider" in Vbulletin.

    See this thread at vbulletin.com - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=277280

A thread here at digitalpoint with the same question - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=895862

Here is a working example on one of my sites - http://www.survivalboards.com/forums/

php/mysql has nothing to do with this. The feature is already built into vbulletin, it just has the be enabled and a javascript put on the target page.

Here is a copy of the code:

You may also try yourminis widgets. It looks good. You can create it from below:

    http://www.yourminis.com/search_minis.aspx?q=rss

You will need the RSS for your forum to create this. I have placed it in my home page. You may check the demo of this widgets. (Third link in my signature. I have placed it at left side.)

Hi guys, thanks loads for the responses, and thanks for posting that code kev.
I spent the day churning over the net and pulling my hair out, in the end I stumbled on the widget idea,
So simple to implement via rss, the theme is widget ready so I just found the settings where I could input the rss feed and it worked!

    Thanks again

hell, just use an rss feed widget, type in the external data source address of your forum, job done.
