I'm completely ignorant of this subject, I just recently launched a website and now I'm in the process of trying to acquire a good user-hitting amount. I'm practically looking for the RSS Feeds for Dummies.

I was wondering how should I create one? And how it works? What are advantages of having an RSS Feed? Is it one of those things that requires a great deal of coding experience?

I think you need feedburner.com. I'm not a pro at this but I know that RSS feeds keep bringing you traffic plus blacklinks. Please correct me if im wrong.

I see, so where should I get stated with adding a RSS Feed? I have never done this sort of task before and I'm not exactly sure as to how to actually do it.

If you use RSS feeds and supply 'full article', your users are less likely to go on to your webpage (they'll read them in a rss reader) and you might lose out of google adwords you have on your sight.

    Key points:
-Nearly every mobile phone (released in last year or so) has an rss reader in it
-Readers can embed 'headlines' from your site in to theirs

Yeah, I've alway been uncertain of this stuff.

I do know that your content will get indexed quickly and people can subscribe to your feeds, but do they help with back links and therefore overall ranking of your site in the longer term by submitting your feed to places? Do they create any lasting backlinks? Would appreciate an explanation of this point.

You know what really helped me very much when I first started Blogging that made me understand what RSS is exactly..? Go to youtube and search for "RSS in plain English" and it should be the first video in your results.

I don't know if you are familiar with this dude from commoncraft but this will definitely help you understand the very basic and get you started.

    I hope it helped :)
