Maybe you would want to do a Google or Wiki on it, the historical incidents that resulted in the current day situation is a bit complicated for a forum post....

Really? Okay, tell me then in what state the South Ossetia were for the last 15 years with its own president and gov etc.?

The Russian troops and weapons pulled out of Geogia long time ago. If you dont know facts dont post lies, otherwise post a source where you heard that. I know you need this war to sell your weaponry to Georgia. Thats fine.

))) Believe me Russia has enough oil pipelines and in fact is the 2nd exporter of oil in the world. Where is the logic?

Yeah, thats why he's giving $500 mln to south ossetia, not counting all the medical aid, etc. Russia was counting its petroleum before this war, if you hate Russia thats fine, everyone hates US and they are fine ;)

Its a breakaway republc which is not recognized and they want independence

This is all very confusing to understand, with the same question I can ask about Kosovo.

I don't think it is clever that Russia support South Ossetia,or Russia also want Chechnya become an independence country?

in fact, there are american army instructors in Georgia if you dont know that.

yeah, 2,000 south ossetians dead and 34,000 evacuated to Russia when Russia invaded Georgia, does make sense, doesnt it??

Some Chechens and all other nationalities of the bordering russian regions went as volunteers to help south ossetia in fightings. Is everything clear now?

SeOLinker, by the way...... it seems that Ukraine backs up Georgia :)

I know the East Ukraine would join Russia any day, its the west Ukraine who spreads these anti russian statements.

Chechnya doesnt want to be independent, they have their own president now and they capital is rebuilding now with the huge investments coming from Moscow. I dont see why would they still want to be independent. So thats in the past. Regarding the volunteers, I think its a few thousands.

If they doesnt want to be independent, why there were many Chechen Wars? What you said is not ture. The whole world know that Chechens want to become independent. So,I don't think it is clever to support South Ossetia become independent.Russia will hurt itself because of its support.

Come to Chechnya and ask the people yourself, Im living 2 hours drive from them, cant see any war, why? Maybe I dont watch CNN? There are some explosions sometimes, but hey, these explosions happen in any part of the world, even in US (9/11). Thats called terrorism (ask Bush - he agrees :D), and its only 1% of population which is hiding in the woods and calling themselves Islam fighters.

wangjink, I support Russia by default and happy to know that I am right this time.

If Russia for example is going to destroy planet some day doesn't mean I'll support them as well, so I assume you've got my point:)

And is you want a short answer - yes.
