Hi guys.. just a little comment on my Little experience with adwords so far. I consider myself a 95% newbie, but for the last month i have been working with adwords (for the first time) At the very beggining i tried putting relevant keywords, and just optimizing my budget to a max 50 bucks a month. I was getting 14 or 15 clicks a day... total 1.50 or 1.60 cost per day (to pay them) In Analytics i was checking that these 15 visitors to my site where having a bounce rate around 34% then 3 days ago i just went there and change my maximum PCP ammount to 1cent (sorry to all my fellow google adsense users .. i am one too though) and left the same max budget (50 dollars a month) I got all my keywords inactive.... but i got 170 clicks! and when i went to google analytics that day, i saw the bounce rate of those visitors drop to a nice 20% !!! Plus i have a registering module for users to contribute with their tabs , and i got 5 users suscribed for the first time.. so.. i am wondering if is it ok for me to do this ? ... am i not braking any weird google rule by bidding so low ? any comments are welcome .. this is empirical learning! and i really try to do everything in the kosher side! thank you for reading!
Thats is very interesting. I would love to hear dome possible explanations. Care to share what Adwords reports as your average position before and after the change?
You are not breaking any rules by bidding that low, since Google allows you to bid that low. Generally, you are allowed to go so low in Max CPC based on the performance of your AD. If you had a high CTR, that would contribute to the low CPC. You should aim on bringing all your keywords back to those 0.01 cent bids; since you can do a lot with such low CPC.
Hi RichUser, thank you for your reply. can you give any pointers on how to achieve getting those keywords back to 0.01 ?
Two biggest factors is making sure all your keywords have a "Great" quality score, and that your CTR is above 10%.
