Firefox is awesome, its the most updated browser and meets xhtml/css standards for today.. You may not notice the difference unless your a designer or a coder, but Firefox is much better at displaying webpages correctly.. IE has far too many problems, and doesn't follow the xhtml/css standard, it has its own little thing, which means pages will show up properly in nearly every browser except IE , thats why coders/designers run into problems with IE. Anyway aside from that Firefox is far safer then IE.
Where can I download Crazybrowser to try? And once again, your lover for Firefox is not resolving my problem getting rid of Mozilla-forced bookmarks as I can't find a way to disable the auto-complete feature when typing in the FF address bar.
Ah, now I can see why I didn't find the link and because I had it installed, only realized it was not there after my system crash, but I ignored why. Thanks for explain
Is it the best browser to keep Mozilla bookmarks unmovable and the auto-complete feature bothering? Correct me if I'm wrong but the OP is asking how to get rid of those annoyances, not what browser is the best.
Firefox can't handle the special effects and cosmetics that IE can? Oh dear. Firefox is extremely customizable (see addons.mozilla.com for proof) and actually renders pages correctly and according to standard. Any web designer can tell you how much easier their life would be if IE never existed. IE is messy, unsecure and ridiculously slow. Make the change to FF - you wont regret it.
Forced upon clueless webmasters through mass brainwash? Interesting comment, considering that Microsoft shoves IE down the throats of consumers. IE can not be removed and is tightly coupled with the operating system. If you recall they were sued over this years ago. Another fact, most consumers do not install other browser software (i.e. families, students, casual users, etc). The only browser they use is what is installed by the operating system. The ones that do change to FF or other browser are exercising their freedom of choice. Firefox is an excellent browser platform and its plug-in architecture has promoted the development of many useful, creative, and advanced components.
Disable autocomplete - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disabling_autocomplete_-_Firefox. Please specify the other issues, which you are experiencing with FF.
That's the point, you need to waste time searching for addons and testing them to see if that is what you need and, as far as I know, it's not possible display colored scrollbars, transition page effects or certain javascript codes while using Firefox. Most of those addons you said were already integrated in the 1999's Web Surface that was an IE shell that didn't need to download addons in order to get it doing those FF things, though I'm aware so newer thingies were not obviously handled by Web Surface as either those that run on the Mozilla platform. Back on topic, if Firefox can be customized I will keep it but, please point me to the exact page where I can download the addon to get rid of Mozilla bookmarks that appear when you type on the address bar, and the exact page to download the addont that allows me get rid of the auto-complete function in the same place.
Haha, 35 posts and NOBODY has been able to give me the SOLUTION to get rid of Mozilla Bookmarks and the controlling Firefox behaviour auto-completing whatever I type in the address bar so maybe it's time to switch back to IE Anyway I hope post number 37 (because this is 36) bring me the solution. How can I fix Firefox annoying with auto-complete and forced Mozilla bookmarks?
Wow if anything Internet Explorer owns you more than any other browser not to mention they are incredibly slow to acknowledge internet standards. FireFox is the best browser bar none in my opinion.
WOW indeed, what this has to do with getting rid of Mozilla bookmarks and the Firefox auto-complete feature?
Please see my response regarding the auto complete option. Did you know that you can access other options by simply typing about:config in the address bar? Most people do not and these are the ones that complain about FF.
Here's something I found about turning off autocomplete: And for the Mozilla bookmarks, go to Bookmarks>Organize Bookmarks and delete what you don't want.
