I was having a nice morning watching the Olympic starting with my Dog and I turn on CNN and Russia is attacking Georgia?

More ironically Russia and Georgia's Olympic team are in the same stadium! Lol

    Let me know your opinions!

My opinion: it's about time Russia was reminded of its place in the international pecking order.

Even thought the Russia is not longer the leader of the world, but he still has some influence in the political events.

That isn't exactly the case. Russia isn't attacking Georgia entirely unprovoked. Georgia attaked the independent state of South Ossetia which won de facto independence not too long ago. Georgia attacked the rebels of South Ossetia, and then Russia rolled in with their tanks to defend the area and openly declared war on Georgia. It isn't as though Russia just decided to take back Georgia.

South Ossetia isn't an independent state though. A bunch of separatists wanted to break away from Georgia, yes. But their little quest for unilateralism is not recognised by international law or the international community. That's not just my opinion - that's a fact.
South Ossetia remains part of Georgia and Russia had no business whatsoever to mount an act of aggression on Georgian soil.

No, that's pretty much the law too. Countries aren't allowed to invade their neighbours. Did no-one ever tell you that?

The international community, of which we are all a part. Who else? Russia is in violation of international accepted practice. They can't just go and invade and bomb someone else's country.

Ah...international community. Well then, I am also against it. I thought you mean some particular country. Problem is when such things happens nobody asks for permission. But this time it's Georgia bad move. Not russian. In usual if not always russian just retaliate back.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Maybe Georgia shouldn't have gone into South Ossetia all guns blazing, but that doesn't justify Russia's heavy-handed response.

Can you invade what is legally yours?

    I understand entirely.
Unfortunately I don't think the UN and NATO will be siding with you.

"Unfortunately I don't think the UN and NATO will be siding with you." Beleive me I really don't care about it:) My country don't need to join any NATO or some other organisation like that, lol Whole idea is laughable.

"I hope this war ends soon and doesn't become more internationally..." it will not, all will be ok.
