Say I wanted keywords for a site to rank at number one in a search that I know produces for arguments sake 7 million plus results, how hard would it be to get to the number one position and how long would it take, and more important how much?
Depending on your effort it will take atleast 6 months to rank your site in google. If you want quick result, you can try PPC also.
You can get number 1 position in the search engine reults pages for most terms. But it takes a lot of hard work and dedication for the more competitive niches e.g affiliate marketing or students loans. But it can be done. The trick is to learn the basics and keep doing it. On page optimization, article marketing, backlinks, social bookmarking forum participatin, blogging. Good luck
That depends on how you measure your findings. In your case lets say you find 7 million result on keywordX Then do a new search: putting your keyword in brackets "" -> "keywordX" whats the result now. Do the same using intitle etc...... having does numbers shows you the real competition.
to rank for 7 million results is very very hard, but it is acheiveable. It requires good on page and off page optimasiation and plenty of backlinks, probably many thousands, but it's impossible to be exact. I think you should always aim for keywords with less than 2 million results
This is quite difficult to do, you may want to aim at 1 million and below until you have some success with that and then move up a little higher.
the 7 mil. results are not enough to estimate the competition strength. you have to analyze the top 10 websites in respect to their backlink power. only then you would do proper keyword analysis.
Better SERP depends on how hard you can work and what's your knowledge depth! Knowledge! Motivation!! Innovation!!!
You need to produce a very good quality content and at the same time have a lot of backlinks pointing to it using anchor text and deeplinks.
How hard would it be- Not too difficult, but it is tough to pass a judgement without analysis. If the No.1 site is wikipedia or some other similar site, then you'll probably have to do with spots 2,3 or 4. How Long- depends on how hard you work How much- More $$ would obviously help your campaign. Do test whether the term is searched for frequently, otherwise ranking first and not getting enough traffic will result in a waste of your time, money and energy
Thanks for the answers guys all taken on board going to download some software and do some trials on keywords and go from there.
Its not at all a hard stuff. I started a new company 3 months before and i just never work to promote the site. Just,i have some good very IMP contents in my site and now im getting RANK 1 in all Search Engines for my keyword Just make sure, you have some contents, which are very very unique. Thats it..
