I have been really trying hard to use dejaone's directory submitter at http://www.4th-media.com/submission/ but it always logs me out all the time. I can't get it to work and I am now wondering if it is something to do with my setup. I have reported it back to him before but before I bother him again, I am curious if anyone else is having problems. Like I said, I am really curious to see how it works. Cheers
I guess, he use cookies of some sort to do this. And I think he won't like to disclose the mechanism behind it (even, I am desperate to learn it too )
I guess whatever he is using isn't usable by my setup. I think I will just go back to paying manual submitters in that case.
yfs1, if you give me details (version of your browser and the steps to reproduce the error) I could look at this again. Two other users have reported the similar problem. Is cookie enabled in your browser? netaddict, the technology I used is similar to Google toolbar. The code base was from an IE toolbar I wrote a few years ago. imagerage, search engine won't frown on automatic submissions, but directory owners do. The tool isn't an autosubmitter. It's a spreadsheet + roboform in one place.
From dejeaone?? This thread is over a year old so you might need to be a little more specific (but I'm listening)
Fully automated solutions I am not a fan of as they do not give good results in terms of acceptance. I prefer to use semi-automated solutions for most of my websites, I would recommend ResellerGo because it is the cheapest one out there and gets the job done easily.
I see this argument all the time, but I don't quite get it. If the autosubmit software works right, it shouldn't really be possible for the directory owner to tell the difference between that and a manual submission. What sort of things are these submission programs missing that cause more rejections? Is it as simple as category selection or is there something else that can't be done with software?
My friend has been in SEO for 4 years and he has forbidden me to use automatic directory submissions. You are to decide for yourself
No offense but your friend is a muppet. He should have qualified that statement as there are loads of different types of submittors ranging from spammers right through to tools that make the submission process more effecient (ie save time).
I have had mixed success with automatic directory submitters. Don't have a problem using software but prefer tools which simply help to complete the forms, rather than ones which are completely automated. That way you are still in complete control but can submit much quicker.
Ouch.. Submission to a 200 web directory list costs 15$ on that site. Try the automatic directory submitter instead. It offers free submission service if you choose the 200 web directory list and also it has some other packages. It bypasses captchas, all is 100% automatic and to top all that off you can use unlimited number of multiple titles and descriptions. You also get a report after the submission service is over. Compared with 4th-media and other submitters out there 4dl is a very good deal.
I have tried to register with 4dl.info many times today and it keeps telling me the captcha is wrong. But, whenever I refresh and try again, the same captcha is showing. ACK!
