Please Review my Future Gas Site

I just registered a new domain GasPumpStop.com


The site isn't up yet BUT I already know what its gonna look like and will have it up shortly. Its all planned out.

1)Front of site will be a live gas price checker
2)The site will also have a blog discussing gas and oil issues
3) The site will also have a forum for gas related discussions.


So tell me, do you like the domain? Do you like the idea behind the site?

 

Sounds good to me. Have you checked to see who your competition might be?

 

Oh I know its stiff competition. Most people fail in the gas site arena I noticed. There is almost no competitors. However Im an experienced webmaster so I won't start a project unless i think there is a chance of success. So I don't plan on competing with the big boys like Gasbuddy, gaspricewatch.com. My Goal is very modest, to get steady/random traffic and discussions through the SERPs from the search engines through my forum and blog. The gas checker on the front will just be so visitors can check gas prices and also to make site look more professional and "bigger".

I like the idea, the domain is perfect. If you launch this site properly you could get loads of traffic. Good luck and keep us posted.

Site isn't up yet sorry. But I already have the thing totally planned out, so wanted opinions on the ideas and domain name before i went through with it. I've built other types of sites, but never done a gas related site before.

Im surprised I was able to get this domain name. As soon as I typed this one and saw it available I immediately snatched it up because the name is catchy, short, and general enough that it can describe what my site is, a place to check gas prices live and to discuss or read about gas.

 

Im working on the template on another site that already has my script going.

Here is a preview of what the front page will sort of look like. Note the gas map will be smaller then what I have in the screenshot and Ill have ads around the map when I start the site.




Thoughts on the design?

 

Here is another logo I created on the same design template, but Im thinking of going with the first one, but now im wondering if the 2nd is better.

second logo is better but needs a better font for the header or some color, effect to it

OK I just created a new logo with the boxer and tested the logo on the template.

I don't think i can create anything better than this. I like this one!!!

 

Anyone have thoughts on the new logo? Do you like it better than the other 2?

 

second one is good, u better get the site up fast, coz i think in 10-15 yrs, gas powered vehicles will b vintage, we will hav waterpowered or cng type cars

 

Ok but I want to go with the last one. I think it looks more creative and has a slogan and plays on my domain name better.

Ha, I know the guy in your avatar was talking on larry king about that. I don't know if we will ever get off gas though, so no rush for me.
