    I watched a bit of the opening ceremony last night. Was quite spectacular.

    But I won't be watching much of the actual sport. Used to be into sport when I was younger. But now, in my 40s, I just have no time for it. Call me cynical, but I just can't see why people strive so hard for so little.

    I just don't get it ...

    The opening ceremony up to the Parade of Nations at least has been spectacular. I'm just finishing up the Parade now.

    The gigantic LCD and the calligraphers dancing out their art and the amazing dancers and the typesetting blocks and the fireworks and the Tai Chi practioners all of it has just been amazing so far. I'd have to say that my favorite part is the calligraphy art that they keep adding more to.
