For clickbank affiliates What if the user did not purchase and instead subscribes to get a free report and eventually buy in the future. Will you still get the commision?
No, most of the time you won't that's why most of us here don't sell products with free reports and opt ins on the sales page. I hope that helps And welcome aboard
SO I better get a publisher that makes the user or visitor purchase from the landing page. Am I right?
I don't agree.. Not to pick a fight, but lots of times a free sample and a vendor opt in list can help your sales tremendously. Before you promote a page with an opt in page, sign up yourself and watch what kinds of emails the vendor is sending. Also make sure the emails he sends do not over write your hoplink. When you receive an email from the vendor, click his links and then continue to the buy button to make sure your affiliate ID cookie is still set. Since clickbank cookies last for 60 days, as long as the vendor is honest and doesn't overwrite your hoplink, the mailings should help you by keeping the possibility of a sale alive. But before you trust anyone, email the vendor to see if they answer, then test yourself. But don't automatically decide to avoid a product because they run a list.
I agree to a point with floodrod, this does take a little more homework tho I feel if a product maker has a opt-in page s/he should also state exactly what they do for us as affiliates when it comes to us sending ppl to their site with their opt-in If on their affiliate page they state that 'YES' we send them back to your hop link after every email or something like this. I think I would trust it a little more.
I dropped promoting two products this week because I discovered that when the customer signs-up for the free offer… the vendors that I was promoting for put direct links to their site in each offer instead of a link which contained my id. But as Floodrod said, you have to first test it by signing up for the offer yourself and see if it includes your id.
That's a good thing. Because the cookie lasts 60 days, and since they redirect directly with: www.productname.com, they contain your cookie and you get credited with the sale. There would've been a problem if they redirected with another affiliate hoplink, that would've overridden your cookie. In order to check if they're legit do the following. 1.Visit the page under your affiliate link. 2.Sign up for the free lesson(or whatever is offered) 3. When you receive the email click on the link provided, visit the page link they're giving you, and go to the payment page (click on the pay button) to check if you affiliate ID is listed at the bottom.
When i checked the sites after signingup with my affiliate id, I discovered that one of them had a different id from my own after checking the order page. The other did not show any id in the order page at all.
