I'm now #1 on Google.. Should I wait before adding ads?

I've worked hard to reach #1 on Google for my keywords. I've done everything manually, even directory submission. Now I got it!

I chose to not put any ad as long as I was not #1.

Now that I'm #1, should I wait to add adSense + affiliate links or is it ok in your opinion? I'm afraid Google ranks me lower in the SERP if I add ads too fast... I achieved #1 today!

What do you think?

 

Monetize your adspace. Why wait?

 

This is my first true SEO project so I don't have that much experience. I'm worrying that by adding ads too soon, Google will devaluate my site and lower its position in the SERP.

Maybe it could be a better idea to wait like 1-2 weeks so Google doesn't see I was just waiting to be #1 before adding ads!

Or do you think ads on a page has no impact at all with SERP position?

 

I know that ads on your page will not impact your serps. If you have an adsense account then use it first. There is no way you will be devalued by Google for using their ads.

 

Yes, having ads will not devalue your site.... and you probably lost money not having ads until then.

How much traffic are you getting from the keyword u got #1 for?

I still think not using any ads was a good idea.. I grabbed some good back links that I probably wouldn't had if there were ads on my site. But now the time has come!

I only have +/- 100 unique visitors per day, but the traffic is really targetted and the keywords are high paying!

 

I appreciate your thoughts but you are here in the business so start making profit asap I don't think that it will devalue your site in any way provided you just don't ads all over..Ads should be such that your visitors are not annoyed..

I now know the basics on how to bring a site to the first page of Google. That's a knowledge I'm happy to have.

 

That's logical. Google will make money with the AdSense I'll use! I'll add some tomorrow...

thats why google would not slap you using adsense

 

Using ads don't affect SERP's i believe but it should be used in a limit and in a ethical way not just filling the whole page with it so any visitor clicks anywhere and it appears to be ads..

 

The truth is that if you overload your website with unblocked affiliate links you will lose some ranking to the outgoing links. Not the case with Adsense but other are a risk.

 

No do not wait for chances, go fire em up , it will get you some cash


and tis always never too late to start it! do it!

Definitely monetize. I've seen no difference in SERPs from putting Adsense on my pages. Just make sure you read the adsense TOS about placement, etc. and you should be good to go Congrats!
