How to Check Backlinks?

Hi,

I have a website which is more than one year old. But when I search for link: it doenst come up with any link. I have submitted it to several directories, using as sig in various forums and all. But still not able to check the Backlinks.

Please tell me how should I check.

In Google's search box type:

link:www.YOURSITE.com

In Yahoo just go to: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ and type in your domain.

 

Use Yahoo's Site Explorer to check backlinks. It gives the exact number.

I would say use Google Webmaster tools and Yahoo - probably the best out there

However be aware your results are never 100% accurate as various links show up and dissapear depending on Google and the various sites that link to you

Try http://www.linkdiagnosis.com/ for searching out some competitors back links as well!

 

I suggest you never use the link: operator to check the number of backlinks as this operator only show a sample of the backlinks. In order to see more backlinks, use google webmaster tools or yahoo site explorer.

 

to check google backlink its just simple like 123 , just visit google homepage
and write
link:thegetpr.com it will show all the backlink of thegetpr.com

and even you can check your alexa yahoo google all at one place

I downloaded the SEopen toolbar. It's a firefox addon. From it you can just click a dropdown menu and it gives you the backlinks for the sites. The toolbar has other features too, like chcking PR, Alexa, it checks yahoo, msn and google.

 

I use backlinkwatch.com with great results. It shows no follow, how many outbound links that are on the page that your site link is on, etc.

 

Yeah you have to use Yahoo... Google hides links, probably because they don't want people trying to figure out their algorithm?

linkdomain:www.mysite.com

also, you can look in Yahoo search by doing link:http://www.mysite.com -site:http://www.mysite.com

linkdomain shows more results though

 

Use yahoo site explorer or google webmaster tool

 

smartpagerank or CPR is also nice to check number of backlinks

 

Just Check in Google with link command

 

You can use any of the following

link:website address in the google

put your url in the siteexplorer.yahoo.com to check the backlinks

www.iwebtool.com/backlink_checker

www.backlinkwatch.com ( personally I like this the most)
