Good point. With any method on how to make money from something, the main ingredient is where to get the traffic. I am currently trying this technique with affiliates on my website at yourphotoshopguide.com, but the traffic just isn't converting.
I owned 2 Photoshop tutorial site ... They were doing good in Adsense ... sold them after some time made a good profit too. All the content creation was outsourced and the return was great. If you try many things online and fail you can always try to create a tutorial site , submit it to the free tutorial directories and you are ready to make some cash, keep the site a couple of months till it starts to make a nice monthly income and after that sell it and start another. With this strategy alone you can make allot of money.
Thanks for encouraging thread. This is something I had meant to do for a while so reading this thread makes me more motivated. Thanks again
Thats what I was thinking, I spend so much time creating different effects \ styles in PS I could easily make a tutorial so I think its time to setup a site.
cool idea. yea i have photoshop skillz... now i gotta drum up some domain. guess this can work for any software you're familiar with.
Wordpress is tricky. There are plugins that will allow you to distribute your Adsense code throughout your site. If you add the code by going into the templates, it will create an Adsense ad after every post and if you have more than 4 posts, you are technically violating the TOS of having too many Adsense ads on a single page. Try this plugin and see if it is any good: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/adsense-manager/ This is sort of the balance you have to factor in. You can work harder (or pay more via outsourcing) for a sweet ass tutorial that will generate traffic via word of mouth...or you can pay less for an average tutorial that only generates traffic from the Tutorial Submission sites. I tend to opt for the average, because I can't find many quality photoshop artists who will give up their rights to a great tutorial....without charging an arm and a leg.
Affiliates are harder to convert since the visitor has came to your site for free info. But if you can create a cheap product and sell it to them , since they see you like a guru its much better from what i experienced. I didn't made many money from affiliate products neither.
The average CPC for photoshop tutorial ads is around 15 cents a click. When you first submit to tutorial submission sites, there will be a spike in traffic. This will eventually die down, but as long as your site is in their database, you will always be getting some clicks per day. YourPhotoshopGuide.com averages 2000 impressions every day.
Tutorial Sites can be very lucrative and targeted traffic. Computer animation Tutorial Sites do great also.
Yes, especially Flash Animation. Whichever topic has a lot of resources to submit the tutorial to for the traffic.
Sorry, I can't tell you the site priyakochin, because I already got a spamming infraction for posting this thread with 2 referral links to my site in it (one of them as a reference). I don't want another infraction. I was planning on sharing more methods as I got them, but screw that now. For 3 years, this has been my favorite webmaster forum. Now...not so much. I won't be contributing here anymore for a while. Enjoy the method! I hope you make lots of money with it!
