All I can say is wow this guys work is really good. I am sure he is worth every penny he charges. His second best is probably better than what most can ever do.
"Yes, my starting price would be 400$". From what I gathered, you think that if he replies with "That's too much, how about 50$?" I should say yes, and give him the same quality of work? yes i would if you using your portfolio as a example your quality of work should be the same as the portfolio. if you give them crap work your just going to be asked for a refund. All im saying is top doller is not found on DP when you can getit cheaper with a blink of a eye.
Article writing and directory submissions reflect this saying well. usually the cheaper the worse. Same goes for web design too.
Were you talking about me? If so, thank you. My portfolio would be an example of the work you could expect for my price. The fact of the matter is, you change the price, you change the work. DP is a league of it's own, I don't disagree. I entirely agree with you that you can find cheaper stuff on DP. But don't expect top quality. Proving my point, pay less, get less.
I agree with you get what you pay for but there are exceptions. Sometimes it depends on where and who you get stuff from. I live in a very expensive town everything is more expensive then all the rest of the towns around here. When you buy something it cost a lot more and the service and quality usually sucks, because the workers are getting barley enough to survive and they have a bad attitude. When I need stuff I drive 30 miles to the next town and things are half the price the service is much better, so I get stuff for half the price and it is of higher quality and all around better deal. On the web I have gotten web content for .001 that was get well researched and well written and I have gotten web content for .0025 that was hacked garbage that need to be rewritten. Just because you pay more doesn’t always mean you get better stuff, a lot of it is where and whom you get it from. But some of the stuff on DP, if you buy a website for $40 don’t expect it to look nice next to a $400. site and don’t expect any customers to click the contact button either.
This has been going from ages..thats what we call business. I do understand that you get what you pay for but we should also keep in mind the competitive market..If today somebody comes with a lucrative offer [ cheaper service] then people are bound to order that service. You can be market leader either by Cost differentiation or product differentiation. It you to choose what you cn do frnd!!!!
