Hey all, appreciate your feedback reviewing my free hosting service, please focus on the service itself rather the look and feel of the system. Name: Hostrator Free Service Url: http://www.hostrator.com Thanks in advance.
I will still ever understand why people put huge competitor ads smack dab in the middle of their webpage under the headlines. I went to your hosting page clicked the most interesting hosting banner on the top of the page, and went to another hosting company's page. I hope you own both of them, although the registrar info is way different.
Your selling a service and only have one plain? Also you never list a price. No phone number, address, hacker safe logo... The only means of contact is email and you do not even use a web base form for this. This makes me wounder if my email will get lost in all the spam I'm sure your getting. Are your servers windows, unix or linux? do you use Cpanel, Vdeck or other? Your home button is linked to .com/index.jsp while your logo is linked to .com/
well just to tell few things about the service: It is FREE hosting not paid one, meaning you are not paying to have the service, also main features are listed so if you know what you are looking for you will definitely know what server/specs is there! banner ads is for upgrades that is where i can make commission to cover my expenses !
Its Control not Controll Signup Now would look better as Sign Up Now or Start Now! Something along them lines. I dislike the setup too, requires too much information for a free host. Last time I used a free host, it was all done by a simple form asking for basic details, and then verification of the account via e-mail, then once completed instant setup. Although that sort of setup which turned me to buying a server haha.
ok let me clarify on this a bit. 1. Ok it is a free service with a limit on bandwidth and storage. What if I go over? What is the cost? You never state any of this. This means you can charge me anything you want. Maybe if .com/Terms_Of_Service.html worked it would be in there. 2. In your Free service does the user have access to Cpanel, Vdeck or is it all web base? You never state this either. 3. You also offer a paid service through Thinkhost. Do I email you or them if there is an issue. The statement "hostrator.com and ThinkHost.com Web Services have teamed up" only says affiliate to me and you're selling their services. 4. Your only contact info is email. Since there is no phone number I guess this is for support as well. 5. You do not state if your free service or paid service is on a Windows, Unix, or Linux box. This matters to me. Sorry but If I cannot call billing or support if there is a issue, or if I do not have an address to where I can bang on your door, you're not going to get my business. I did not see any need for a personal attack. But maybe the issue is I do know what I'm looking at. And I do not trust you.
You should make a navigation with options like hosting plans and more cause you got that staright on the main page and only one product, your saying Free 24/7 Technical Support, maybe you could add on the left side bar a nice pic that says 24/7 support and the number. you need more content i think as there are many hosting companies and your competition is huge. With the site you got now you will have a high bounce rate. good luck
for those familiar with web hosting this is standard and direct, which is all that is necessary honestly for a site like this one
guru, If this service is free, it should be the first thing I notice when I end up on your website. It should scream at me: Yuhuuuu, I am FREE, take me!!!! Then, you have a premium plan? Why cannot I see it on the index page? If I was to work on this site, I would make the homepage look like this: http://www.names.co.uk/hosting.html I mean not design-wise but the way it has compared the plans! Let me ask you: what do you want from this business? If you are doing this, you have to have a goal! What is your goal? Is it to 1) give away as many free hosting packages as possible or 2) sell as many premium packages as possible? If it is the first, we don't have much to speak about Then, the guys already pointed out your reliability issues: Who are you, what are you, where are the servers situated? How your customer service works? If I have a server glitch in the middle of the night, how do I contact you? Shall I look through yella' pages and phone you home and ask your missus: "Hey, where's that guy who hosts my bloody website?" I clicked on User CP - it screams Error! Why? What the heck? O, I know, there's something wrong with this site so I better go away: that's what a visitor thinks. There is no error, it's just that you need to log in to access the CP - that's what it should say. Don't try to scare your visitors away. How are your free package sponsored? How do you make £££? If it is ad-based, the customer needs to know. Compare it with Godaddy's ads-based free hosting. They are displaying bloody ads on your website but they say it straight and clear and people do use their free service and fat chance is they are upgrading to paid service soon. Get my drift? Then, if I upgrade, how do I pay? Where are all Visa, Paypal, etc logos? Get http://www.truste.org/ if you are serious about this business or do something else. Offer free templates, free scripts with the packages. I don't know, maybe you are already offering this but frankly I don't have time to go through your FAQ - neither will the visitor(customer)! Shortlist your selling points and throw them all at the visitor. Sell yourself!!! Yeah, and get rid of that banner if you don't want to earn bad reputation (not in DP, amongst your potential clients, I mean) Good Luck!!!!!
The ad makes it look like your service is 7.95 not free. Perhaps it is because it is an ad for essentially a competitor... you might want to change the placement so people are not confused.
It's a good idea to start with offering a free package. - The site lacks images - More details about the offer to make it appealing - Design looks like a serious weblog
