am i just lucky, or is MSN incredibly easy to rank on?

A couple of my sites are sitting in #1 position, and #2 position (outranked by wikipedia definition of search term) on MSN...

I am getting a ton of traffic from them, and it seems to convert great, better than google traffic...

Oddly, both the sites in question seem to be banned from google.

All I did was a ton of free directory submissions and social bookmarking.

Is this normal for MSN, or has something changed?

MSN and Yahoo are always easy comparing to Google, maybe because they understand better how there search engine works

I only used roboform (pro version).

Basically just spent a hell of a lot of arm numbing time clicking and clicking.

    Only free directories.

Msn is really easy to get ranked highly on. Too bad they never bring in as much traffic as Google.

Live Search is the least stable though too, today you're there ... tomorrow gone, day after back again :p

I find new sites rank great on MSN, then fall over time. Almost as a complete opposite to google.

All search engines seem to rank each site on different things, MSN tends to be easy to rank on, but Google IMO seems to rank on PR and Backlinks, and MSN just Backlinks, and Yahoo..... ??

MSN and to a lesser extent Yahoo seem to rank a site high with simple backlinks, such as directory links, which Google doesn't even notice.

Yeah, I got a no.1 spot for both live and yahoo, yet I couldn't find it even after 200 in google.

It is hard, but the traffic they send is oh...so sweet!:D

I think it always depends on the niche you are targetting
on small niches its easy to RANK for ANY search engine
(just directory submissions can do it)

The more traffic MSN gets, it will get harder to get top ranks. That's how the world works :(
