I'm a bit disappointed, after 600 adwords clicks to both landing page and direct linking, and 220 hops i made zero sales.

Swerd, if you can help me out especially with direct linking and get me motivated again, throw me a pm.

Swerd, I finally made my first sale of this product after 300+ hops! I'm getting organic traffic too, but I made the sale using PPC direct to your site using my hoplink. That's my 3rd product sale in the niche with an ad spend of $17.78. My campaign is kind of messed up right now, so I don't know exactly how much I spent on Earth4Energy traffic. I can live with those numbers if I can just keep growing my traffic.

I made 76 sales with adwords PPC for E4E from launch. Profits were decent, and product sold well.

But now my ads are real low on the results because lots of competition jumped in, and my ratios are just bordering profitability.

Time to pause my campaign for now. I want to thank Swerd for perfect timing to launch such a product. Keep it up!

    dude 76 sales.. nice.

I would ask your spend on that many sales, but now it's irrelevant because like you said, lots of competition now.

Also, I made my first upsell today with e4e.
$52.28 from one customer is very nice!:D
    thanks Swerd!

So you're the one who runs this. I am starting up promotion of this site now. Didn't even know it was a DPer who owned it.

Perhaps you were doing stuff wrong like me.

    Don't target general keywords.
Use sales specific word in your PPC ads to crack down on freebie hunters.

Probably your CPC was lower last month, because there is more competition.

did you tracked the keywords that landed the sales properly during that period? 17 sales should have been enough to uncover some converting keywords and get with some real profit for months to come!

    Cheers!

    Floodrod, Tevez ...

Just wondering, you don't mention whether your sales per hop ratios have changed at all ... have they?

mine have changed, admittedly i am only a low volume noob, but look a little like this :
    Week 1 - 40.25 hops per sale (4 sales)
    Week 2 - 84.74 hops per sale (4 sales)
Week 3 - 151 hops, no sale (week still running)

Granted monitoring PPC costs is the major because that's the money you're spending, but I think it's also very handy to look at hops per sale to identify any changing trends etc ...

FYI I've also been doing PPC, there's no doubt prices have gone up ... time to get good at being a bum!

    Hey almighty Swerd ...

I've been doing some more keyword research today - it seems things have changed a lot in google-land and currently when searching the term earth4energy this very forum pops up as the first search result ...

Thought that might bring an interesting dynamic into this, as any curious customer that decides to research the product will come across this very thread and quite likely read it, which may or may not influence their buying decision ...

    Any thoughts?

uggg ... apologies, i couldn't figure out how to edit my previous post ... :(

in just 9 hours things have changed so much, the forum is down to number 9 on the search for that particular term ... never thought things used to change that quickly, obviously a lot of people seo-ing

so you can somewhat ignore my last message, tho I still think it was an interesting point :)
