Hi Guys, I am wondering whether writing articles and then selling them here on DP is profitable. I was thinking of offering writing services at like .015 per word, but was also looking into the possibilities of selling prewritten articles. IS their money in this? -Noah
Yes, providing that your articles are unique, and also try and pick a niche that you know people will be interested in. For instance, there's little point in writing about 'How to play a bongo drum', especially when there's a bigger niche with more potential customers in a different niche. This said, however, if I were you, I wouldn't bother with pre written articles, purely because I would rather write the articles custom for people where I know I'm going to get paid, rather than just hoping someone owns a site in that niche and wants to buy my content. So, in answer to your question, yes, there is money in pre written articles, but you have to be careful that you're sure you will get customers, otherwise you would have just wasted your time. Personally, I would stick to write-to-order articles, but it's your choice. If you've got no jobs lined up and have nothing to do, go for it. The more specialised your niche is, the more you'll be able to sell them for, but also it will be hard to sell them.
If you hang around the buy, sell & trade subforum, you will see that certain article niches are in regular demand. Focus on them if you are going to sell prewritten articles. If your articles don't sell, you can still put them on your own site, submit them to article directories and such.
Yes, it can be profitable. But if you can, it is always better to find clients and let them dictate the details of the project.
Writing article and selling is profitable, but usually the topic is depend on the buyer request. Hope you will find the buyer which is matching with your article's topic.
Even so, it seems that there is a slow demand for articles lately. I have also seen a reduced number of pre-written articles for sale. Is the trend of selling pre-written articles dying?
i too thought about writing articles for money. but i would rather promote a product via articles instead.
You can always write articles first and then sell.It is an ongoing activity on DP. However, I do not find this as a good earning idea.Such type of articles hardly attract high price. If you are a beginer it may frustrate you as well. But the same method can easily be applied with packs of PLR articles. You can make some money out of it certainly. It is far better to write as per the client's requirements.
Dear Cuatrofb, Its all about the demand and supply competition. How much is your article niche in demand. I you are giving unique articles of high quality you can good money. Check www.associatedcontent.com Its good for article writers. Hope this helps you Regards Tehmina
I agree with what everyone else said, and this method can be more profitable if you sell the articles multiple times. Of course, you should let the buyers know upfront that the articles could be published on other websites, and it's usually best to limit the number of times you will sell them.
Of course it is profitable, there are no overheads aside from your electricity, but you would earn more profit establishing a client base and working on demand.
Well, it might be a good start, but I'd really advise you to sell them on sites such as Dailyarticle or similar, they pay more per word and require a higher quality so you're motivated to learn how to write better .
.015 per word? That's around $6 for an article. You have to decide if that is profitable or not - it depends where you live and how much does fuel cost in your country I, being British, couldn't afford writing articles at $6 rate. But then, if you are really good, why not asking more? I mean, you can even ask $50 for an article but then you need to have a nice portfolio with some SERIOUS work, and hmm... you need a good reputation to pick up any gigs in DP, which may prove a problem in given circumstances
I think writing articles for money can be tricky, since it mostly depends on what consumers are looking for in terms of theme and topic. Yes, I guess it can be profitable..
I've been with associated content for a while, but am looking to earn mroe than i have. I was hoping i might be able to earn more writing on demand on DP. Also, ona side note, i have been makign pretty good money dealing text! Buy low sell high.
My Wife writes articles for affiliates and makes decent $$$$. It depends on how well you write and how you market it.
Exactly! That's a good point and a good idea. Maybe some newbies will pick up something from this post
