I was googling random people when this came up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Hogan and led me to this http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.08/start.html?pg=3 anyone knows what happened later ??
Be famous and hit the headlines. Sure... You too will find a place in the wiki and other related stories.
there was no news after that article, dont no what happened. Maybe some of the older members would know?
Props to Shawn for standing up, i'm glad someone will. I am curious to hear what will happen but typically these types of things take quite a while to work out.
thanks for sharing! so, Universal/MPAA don't own the copyright! Good that shawn took his stand! if i was in his position, i would have lost $2500 easily
It was denied. (see http://daledietrich.com/imedia/shawn-hogans-motion-to-dismiss-riaa-claim-denied/) No information have I been able to find after that. I have been periodically searching for information on the case over the last year and a half, with little to be had. Perhaps someone with law connections in Cali can look up the case work, but I'm not willing to pony up any dough to read it online. Unfortunately the lack of news on it points to a not so good ending. I figure he was culpable, tried to get a dismissal on technical grounds, failed in that, and settled. Unfortunately, his blog has been abandoned and he hasn't publicly commented on it past the dismissal of the motion at the end of 2006. Maybe he'll respond in this thread and let us all know what happened.
