I have read conflicting info regarding whether the whole site (beyond the destination URL given for one's keywords) impacts the QS of one's keywords. Does anybody know either way?
Ah, ok -- I'm guessing the google hates "single page sites" comments I've read have been regarding lack of "contact us" details, privacy policy, et al...thanks!
half right half wrong.... google hates one page wonders and want to make sure you have a site. so having links to other pages on your site and even to other sites shows that you are more of a "real" site
Let me guess, that advice is from PPC-COACH... Google is fine with single page sites as long as it contain 2 things 1. Contact us page 2. Privacy Policy page Thats it... You need a landing page and the only 2 outbound links you need are to those 2 pages. THATS IT If you don't believe me, test it yourself on a new url that only contain that... In fact, just to prove my point, someone create a new google account and give me access to it. I will put together a campaign with only those things and you can have it point to an opt in box or affiliate offer. Then I will put it all together and you will see what the QS comes out to... Only thing I ask is you put up screen shots of everything I just said to show proof of what was done and validate my claims In fact, give me an account that has been slapped several times and I will put all the text in images other than the call to action And i will make it a very small landing page without much content where the page does not scroll at all Any takers?
Your advice above is spot on...if it were a year ago. I can do the exact same thing you think is impressive above, (it's not btw), but that site will be slapped eventually. Maybe you only keep your clients for short spurts and never see the long term effects of doing it your way. (ie the wrong way). I have trained over 1,000 affiliates, reviewed over 600 adwords accounts, seen every kind of landing page in virtually every niche imaginable. I know what works and what doesn't. Your solution is short term and will not keep the campaign from being slapped in the future. So following your advice will just get the person right back here down the road asking what to do now when google slaps them and slaps them hard for not having a full site attached to all those landing pages. Please keep telling me I'm wrong though, it's very entertaining.
Well I reckon you guys should have an Adwords duel if one may call it that. Pick a product (or get DP members to pick it), 1 month, same daily budget. See who achieves the greatest ROI. I'd be happy to draw up the rules. Benefits: Whether you win or lose you will get publicity for your services and the winner may get a lot more publicity. Think of the great discussion that will surely unfold. What do you guys think? Are you up for it?
Actually my advice works today and well as years ago I never said it was impressive, I said all the stuff you say is mandatory is not. My landing page haves been going for years... no slaps yet Most of my clients are over 2 years old, with the exception of all those who I have recently took on since I started freelancing... How many are actually making money they can live on? I hand pick my affiliates and give them one on one attention and keep my affiliate selection low and maintainable to ensure each ones success. again I ask, are you preparing for something you think might happen down the road with full sites? I assume you are just guessing google will require this later and are attempting to warn people of something your not sure is going to happen. I will accept this as an explanation... But will tell you it not currently mandatory Secondly, is there anyone here on this forum who has taken my advice and my advice did not work? Has anyone used my services and had there site re-slapped? Please come forward... Im not telling you that you are wrong, I am telling anyone who is actually listening to your advice and following it...
