I am gonna start a new site about films, actors etc.. I have a similar site and I can bring some decent targetted traffic(more than 5.000 uv daily) instantly.. Just a question..Do you know if it's a good paying niche ? Any ideas about the average cpc ? Thanks
Well.. This seems to be an overpopulate niche. So, check out before you start. However, The CTR will be high if you do a perfect ad positioning. But, I think CPC would be neither too high nor too low! A Good Niche! Go Ahead! Good Luck
You can look at the average CPC of that niche here https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
I've an Indian celebrity blog which is getting around 1500+ uniqes/day.. but the cpc is very very low.. sometimes low than $0.01
No, it's not a good paying niche, because it is not a niche at all! People, at least try to use the propper terms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niche_market Pages about movies and celebreties are as mainstream as you can get. A lot of people try it, because it looks so easy to slam together a webpage about trivialities, spiced with tons of ads. The result is typically among the following: AdSense account cancelled because of producing MfA AdSense account cancelled because of copyright infringement (yes, even "freely" available pictures of the stars must be properly licensed). Totally untargeted ads because the main content of the page is graphical, which the Google bot cannot make heads not tail out of. Totally untargeted ads because you cannot associate a product with a celebrity (the celebrity is the product!) Large volumes of traffic because (surprise!) graphics are bulky.
so IMDB, filmschoolreject, slashfilm, rottentomatoes, TMZ all come to mind off the top of my head. I'm sure I could come up with a few more if you gave me some time. Those sites are monsters, you'll have a hard time competing for traffic with them.
The niche is quite competitive but you can always focus on long tail keywords and niche subject and there are sure pretty good combination to play around.
