I think the SU traffic is more steady and have less bounce rate compare to digg. :)

Digg users chose what they visit unlike the stumblers they just come to ur site by hitting a button!!

Perhaps. But Del.icio.us is helpful for me in the following way: Most other social sites allow a full import of your del.icio.us bookmarks. So I keep my del.icio.us page fully up to date. It provides a nice "global" import source for many other bookmarking sites.

I use Digg, Stumbleupon and other Social Bookmarking sites on regular basis to promote my blog.... The reason of getting so much traffic for my 1month old blog is my posts getting popular in Digg and Stumbleupon... The benifits i m getting is sudden increase in traffic + after 1 or 2 weeks my popular post gets 100s of backlinks from different sites. They love to link to my site and share stuff with their users...

In this case i m pretty happy with the results.... and really looking forward to get more backlinks and gud PR in upcoming afew months....

The problem with these sites is that there are certain categories that always dominate other ones i.e. if you publish a blog about entertainment you will be more likely to succeed than for a business subject

Doing social bookmarking helps indexing your site easily, which improve search engine ranking by providing quality back links.

I felt the same way, but then I became a convert. If you get a large following, people really do read your tweets and visit your blog. The traffic from people clicking the url on your profile page is not bad -- they're interested in what you're talking about and they'll cruise the site for a bit.

Look for the tag "twitter" on my blog and you'll see some interesting stuff, like the Greasemonkey Script to add twitter friends and dump the ones that don't friend you back.

Yes u right, I also noticed that Digg is better then stumble upon. Digg's give you targeted visitors for your website.

Digg and Stumbleupon are the best in delivering the good traffic. However, SU has just traffic, no relevant traffic.

Simply have your keywords splattered all over your bookmark, or post, and encourage people to go to your site

Twitter's tricky but can work if you figure it out. Look at people who are using it successfully for marketing and see what they're doing.
Good points here about popular categories on digg, etc.

Twitter is using nofollow link, digg is good but if you have good friend on it, delicious is ok, stumbleupon is best, but not effective for adsense
