Sure it great for the oil companies.

Berkshire Hathaway has over a 100 billion in equity and cash. Who is complaining about Buffet making money.

When I start hearing about complaints about the oil companies making money, it smells like 'windfall profit' tax.

As significant as are the profits of the oil companies....think what the oil producing nations are earning...

There should have been a winfall profit tax on all the flippers that were selling houses for 250% of what they paid for them :D

Don't forget the RE agents, title companies and lenders. They all made hand over fist during that time. They were all in on the deal except the last sucker left holding the hot potato.

I'd kind like to put things into perspective for those that are so bent out of shape over a company making a profit.

You all do realize that while the profits might be at record highs, the profit margins remain the same or lower, as taxes remain at an all time high.

When you bitch about big oil making record profits, remember that your government is reaping in a record profit windfall as well.

To those that own businesses, how would you like it if the government taxed you at 35% or higher. Hell, how would those of you that work for someone else like to be taxed at that rate on your income?

Don't worry though, Obama will come to the rescue and tax businesses more and give that money to you so you can use it to buy more gas.

Anyone recognize the "retard factor" here? Think people....!

Yea you are right. Somehow taxing a big company will make them lower their prices. How the hell does that make sense? They will just raise their prices to make up for the tax. Voting for obama is crazy.

I am beginning to wonder how many "hot potatoes" guru was left holding. He sure seems to put the blame on everyone but the buyers... hmmm....

You make $100 a month. Your mortgage is $200 a month. Who's fault is it that you did not make the payments?

Clearly the buyer is just as much to blame, if not more so in many cases.

If Exxon made a record profit then it also paid a record tax on that profits, why is no one complaining that the government is taking in too much money from the oil companies?
