Digital point is losing thousands of visitors and dropping incredibly!

I miss Perry Rose. Even though that guy could be rough on a lot of people, he knew his stuff.

Don't know him, but I only play in a couple sections now. I might go back to BST now that they are cleaning it up. I think my last deal was 6 months ago.

 

The Alexa ranking is a foob! It doesn't work that way. Glad Aaron (our moderator) pointed that out.

 

Better concentrate your mind to obey all DP rule rather than think about DP Alexa rank.
Wasting your time and energy.
You will need DP's Alexa rank information only if you plan to buy DP.

yes this is very true.... alexa dont give accurate reading.... normally DP is still the same except few members get banned because they are either scammers and spammers or stakers lolol.... at least now i dont get too much spam PM's...

 

I'd rather spend time on a board with a lower Alexa rating and a higher number of high quality trusted visitors as the other way around.

 

I agree. I don't know about vBulletin but at least on phpBB it's easier to move a topic than giving a warning

BTW if "review copies" are not acceptable in DP, I've got you a nice list.

 

with the amount of members alone, this forum could hardly be 'empty'. and I am sure there are plenty of those who would appreciate such a forum. then they don't have to cut through the crap just to get to the meat.

 

I'll say DP is the most CIVILIZED forum. it is clean and i'm sure it WONT be EMPTY ever.

Well it shows its not as good as it used to be. Alexa wont bring in more traffic, it just shows how good a site is in terms of popularity. Same goes for PR.

Ok, a lot of those guests will, I assume, be bots, but looking at the actual member numbers, 830 right now, I know a lot of forums would dearly love to get figures like that.

Posts like `I`m interested` or `good idea` are of no value, and usually made just to show off a signature, or of course to post build so as to reach a required minimum for whatever reason.

If admin here has clamped down on this type of spam all credit to him (and the mods).

 

DP is still the most popular webmaster forum on the net even though it has lost quite
a bit of traffic.

Well, no matter what happened, I will still stick with the DP forum...

 

A brand new forum with one active member looks 'clean' but god help you if you think its better than a busy forum

 

The only reason it was so big was because it was filled with spamers. now that alot of spamers are gone, ofcourse the traffic stats are going to go down, but thats a good thing.

 

News Rules, More Members getting the Ban, Less Spam, Less Visitors, Alexa Drops, Traffic Drops and due to all this Revenue through Ads for the Owner Drops.

He could have just left things the way they were and kept earning as much as he used to instead of the drop in earnings. But i guess he choose to make this place more Friendlier, Cleaner & Spam Free at a loss incurred by him.

But all we do is Complain!.. Hilarious , Spare the owner and Mods some slack please.

And about the owner not visiting the forums anymore. That is Understood. When a Business grows, the owners usually or always leave it on autopilot and go enjoy the benefits of their previous hardwork!

Do you think Bill Gates goes to Microsoft HQ everyday and see if every employee is working properly? .. LOL .. He must be just keeping in touch with his CEOs.

Same way Shawn's business(dp) has grown so much that he doesn't and shouldn't bother about nurturing it anymore!. He has left it in the hands of his mods. And probably he does keep in touch with them.

So whats the Issue? .. anyone missing the Scams or what!?

The only stupid factor in this whole case is ALEXA. As always.

I agree that dp has lost alot of traffic., I my self do not visit here like i use to because of the new rules.. the new rules are not working (at least in the webhosting forum) you still have the same people bumping threads, day in and day out they get reported but the posts stay. You get the same crap that does not belong in the web hosting bst area., and then when you respond to a legitimate question in your thread or some one asking for hosting you get a infraction and post removed while others are doing the same.. it was not a bump post it was a legitimate post..

So I my self visit other forums more then i do here any more.. the minute you post a thread it gets burried off the first page because others are bumping theirs or because of the non sence that does not belong so it really is not worth posting anything here any more.
