Hi guys, i Know that commenting on nofollow blogs wotn help much as they wont be counted as backlinks. but finding dofollow blogs are too difficult and time consuming. But still whenever i come through a blog i never forget to leave a comment with my link [ comments are relevant and unique]. Now the question raises is that "is it useful or just total time waste? Suggest me Guys.
My guess is that it helps, not much, but it helps. If you have even some plain text somewhere with your site name and google crawls that site, they may include that in the search results. So why not? I am sure it doesn't count the same as a 'do follow' link, but I seriously doubt that google is 100% disregarding what the crawlers find.
check the source code of the page , then find for "nofollow". or use plugins like Seoquake" for firefox.
I agree that they help but not as much as if the blogs you're commenting on are dofollow, related niche and have high PR. If I find a nofollow blog that's related with a high PR, I would still leave a useful comment.
Well I have seen results where it does follow the link as I have seen backlinks from sites inspite of having a Nofollow attribute. I think Google does follow the link but probably doesnot pass any PR value.
Agreed, and besides google, yahoo gives full value to nofollow tagged links. So i the result comes out is "its not at all waste of time".
Commenting on nofollow blogs will not give a link in Google but may get a link in Yahoo. But one can expect some traffic from all blogs whether they are nofollow or dofollow
This Firefox add-on will help you save time. It tells you whether a blog is dofollow or not. Hope it helps to all of us.
As much as possible, it would be better if you comment on blogs with dofollow. This is to provide your site with both backlinks and traffic. However, if you found a blog that has really good and interesting content, you can also post a comment even if it's nofollow..
its not always a waste of time... and either way, you can get people to click on that link and visit your site... so it cant be too bad
