Why no ads on Google search pages?

    Hi,
Can someone explain why I often see search pages in Google with few or no ads at all, even for high search keywords on which there are obviously many advertisers bidding? I just did a couple of searches now as an example: "guitar lessons" (3.939.000 searches) and "phone accessories" (10.600.000 searches) - neither show even one Google ad!

    Please enlighten me - thanks!

Well, I can see loads of ads for both those - so either it's a regional issue - or you're using a browser/ firewall that blocks ads.

Me too, maybe no ads targeted to your location? Hmmm

That makes sense (at least I know I'm not going bonkers!). I'm in Italy but targeting English-speaking countries.

Not sure how to go about solving the problem, though.

I recently reformatted; maybe that's the cause?

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Many thanks again.

    Depends on Geographic location.
I'm in Canada when I search "phone accessories" I get alot of Ads of people selling cell phones.

Just change your domain to google.com and you will see all ads, more or less.

Thanks to all for your help.

After checking different things (I have Google.com set as my browser's home page anyway, but this seems to be since I reinstalled Windows recently) I've come the the conclusion that it's a Firefox issue, as I can see the ads in IE.

Thanks and greetings to all from steamy hot Italy!
