This is one of the bad points of the forum seriously. Users that dig up threads that are from 2006 or further in the past. Why don't you just create a new thread on the topic? I think new information on the topic will be posted if you just create a thread. Since its 2008 and not 2006 and internet marketing changes daily. Can users stop digging up these threads that are old and dead? Whats your opinion?
I totally agree on this. We should have some message as well where it says like this is x Month old thread like in SitePoint
When you notice such posts, do report to the mods and they will take the appropriate actions. I have seen those digging up even 6-700 days old threads. I guess those members really have nothing better to do.
I see it a couple times a day and it just sickens me. Do you really need to post on a topic that had a last posting in 2006? I think not.
Some probably come to the thread using the search function, and post without checking the age of the thread. A bit frustrating but not unusual given that this is the internet.
I would say absolutely no for most cases, but given the size of the forum, it would be hard for the mods to notice everything, just report the post and it should be settled. I would say that most of such bumping are done by spammers for eg VCC, accounts sellers bumping up an old request to post their wares....
