Check your site now or your PR will be dropped!!

I just noticed one of my site PR dropped from 3 --> 0 but this is not a surprise because I know the reason. Three weeks before the update, I found this site has been hacked and placed a hidden links to viagra/casino sites, thousands of link embed on my page. I know this by "view source" and see hidden links. I had removed it but it continued to embed on my site. This cause my ranking dropped from #5 --> no where in Google too. This site is wordpress so I decided to update version to the latest.

My site ranking has regained again in a few weeks later but the PR is dropped to zero in the latest update. You should check your site to see if there are some hidden links embed on your site without your acknowledge. if so, please fix, update or remove them and prevent them for being penetrated into your site. This case study tell me to beware on who you are linking to too. I found most of sites that PR dropped has something suspicious, site about dog place a link to casino/betting site for example. That is uncommon and very easy to be detected as irrelevant link, especially if you are linking to casino/betting site which cause easier to be detected, plus Google seems doesn't like site about gambling too.

why doesn’t word press update automatically? seems like they have a huge flaw in their security, or do you have to pay for the latest version?

No, Wordpress is free! and why the hell do you want some third party to install a script/upgrade automatically on your server? Even if it's google I wouldn't give them FTP access to automatically update my site script when there is a new release.
