I'd say there are much more wackos per square foot or whatever other metric you want to use, on a bus than in most public places, not counting prison buses.
I would have to agree. When I was in the service, I drove from Mississippi to Ohio. The bus trip was about 24 hours. During that time, I met a woman that wanted to marry me and another older woman that wanted me to appear in a video with her daughter. They just happened to own a photography store. And the woman that wanted to marry me kept calling the base. It got so bad that I received a direct order to call her back. I never took a greyhound bus ever again...
I understand that line of thinking, personally the I think the worst fate is to sit in prison for the rest of your life. But I as a taxpayer am going to have to pay to keep him fed and healthy while in prison, something that I'm not exactly fond of. You also have to consider that this is Canada, home of one of the biggest jokes of a legal system anywhere. Even if he gets life in prison, which I doubt he would considering people have done much worse and not gotten that stiff a sentence, he will only get 25 years. That's what life means in Canada, not for the remainder of your days, but 25 years. We also have some stupid law that states something to the effect that you get out after 2/3 time served. So even if he got a life sentence, he'll only have to serve a maximum of 16.5 years. Factor in good behaviour and other factors and I don't see him serving any more than 10 years for doing this. That's the way the justice system is here. If you want to commit a crime do it in Canada, not to mention our jails are like day care facilities. That's why I'd rather see him executed, he's not going to get punished for his crime.
Its only a joke because not enough Canadians voice there opinions. Expelling a death sentence on someone is only giving them a free ride. Suicide by jury. If I were to go and commit a crime and potentially receive the death penalty I would laugh. I wouldnt have to live the rest of my life with remorse.. regret.. nightmares..
I didn't know Canada was that loose on murderers. That guy will probably be labeled insane, and spend his time in a mental institute, never even seeing a prison. As far as the death penalty goes, I think it's more so a "closure" thing for the family of the victim. It's hard to decide which one is worse, because none of us have been put in a situation where your facing death, or life behind bars.
A real webmaster works on their sites even in jail. I just read another article that said the attacker was at least 6'0 200lbs, and the person he attacked was 5'4 130lbs.
If you haven't heard it yet, here's police leaked tape describing gruesome details of how the killer butchered victim's body and ate his flesh.
yea I was talking about this with all my friends at last nights bbq, the guy was asian that is why it came up (I have a lot of asian friends), its just disturbing, something you would see in a movie.
Read this on another forum it's really shocking, and I have to say the death penalty is really not such a bad thing.
