Give up on this name & come up with another name if you're not willing to contact the current owner & make an offer.

Give up on the name? This is out of the question.

I have been developing the site for over two years. I have all other extensions of the domain. Just not the dot com.

Ok, then it seems that you really need the .com so if I were you, I'd contact the owner of it & negotiate a deal.

UnderTheSky.me is available... Just a thought.

The .com is worth around 350ish...you may be able to pick it up very reasonably.

Check the whois of the domain (you will find the contact details of that guy over there) and contact the owner. He might be interested to sell you the domain.
