    Hi, to all,

Since DP started with their so great ' new rules' they are losing thousands of visitors and i think they are not even realizing.

I remember when they were rang about 500 in alexa , now look at the chart drop down to almost 5 000 !
Many people here are banned for almost no reason, no warnings etc.
If this goes on this forum will drop even more.

Well at least the new rules make the forums look cleaner instead of tons of spam. "I'm Interested" or "P'm me"

Agreed. Once people realize its a forum that is not full of spam people will repopulate it.

So you prefer an empty forum really 'CLEAN' but no visitors...

Its because they give out infractions and bans like mad which annoys people becuase they get them for stupid reasons. Therefore DP get a bad reputation.

When I first signed up to DP, not that long ago, it was a pretty good site. I dont come on here as much now.

And you are so right. Forums are suposed to be light hearted places. Not places which are full of rules and regulations.

I'm sure they must be realising... I mean we've all noticed the Alexa rank slipping over the last few months.
More people are getting banned and more of them are failing to return. There's also quite a lot of negative comment floating around about DP's stance on scammers and such like.

I'm afraid DP forums' best days are now behind it.

Alexa changed the way they view sites. It's not Digital Point.

Personally I didn't see anything wrong with those types of posts.

I have noticed too that I have been less interested in dp lately, and if I come here I lose interest quickly.

    Alexa change their algorithm.

Has nothing to do with DP. Try looking at other webmaster forums also and you WILL see the same trend.

Dont judge sites by Alexa or you will be mistaken.

Too many people get banned for stupid reasons. 7 day bans for a "bump" is ridiculous. i understand wanting to cut back on some of it but at the same time its been handled the wrong way. half the bumps are not even a real bump but infractions are given anyways. i go to a lot of other webmaster forums and there is a lot of horror stories about the dp mods.

I am not saying that I agree or disagree with all the new rules, but for the most part I think they make the forum a better place.

Unfortunately, or not, when new rules and drastic changes such as removing the digg trades and currency exchanges are made many members may slow down in activity or leave altoghether. For example, if your main thing is currency exchange then you no longer have a need for DP.

Now, I have no interest in currency exchange or digg trades, these are just some quick examples that come to mind. Personally I thought the forums were way too cluttered with stuff like that.

In the end let us remember that we use DP Forums absolutely free of charge and that many of us make good business contacts and friends here, many of us buy, sell and trade our services right here on DP. The leadership behind this forum wants it to be succesful and as active as possible, but they seem to be more interested in quality posts as they are the sheer post counts. Isnt that a good thing?

If only there were a way to get all members to read the FAQs and rules. If each person would do that the MODs workload would be slashed.

There are another answers to that drop:

    1) Most spammer are also using Alexa toolbar
    2) Alexa doesn't bring accurate rating, since it's full of spamming user
    3) DP's popularity is still high. But because only handful number of spammer that have been banned, are also Alexa's user, that's why it drops so much. So in reality nothing has ever change. DP is still hot..

    cheers,
    :)

Actually, I see the same group of people responding to other's threads. We either need people who contribute more, or people with better knowledge about the material covered in DigitalPoint.
