Hi how does a new website gets 2000 visitors a day? Email marketing is out and against adsense policy. Getting index in google first page takes a long time. Paid to surf is out too. Planting links in 3rd party sites doesn't generate much traffic and takes too much effort. That leaves only adwords like campaign. So did all the huge traffic sites get their traffic from adwords like campaign or is there any other options?
The best thing you can do is create quality backlinks. Try submitting your website(s) to Digg, Del.icio.us and other social bookmarking sites. And submit your site to Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, MSN, etc.
The best thing is if you receive real traffic from the search engines such as Google and Yahoo. You can do that if your content is fresh with targeted keywords. Then submit your articles and pages to the social networking websites such as LotText - Propeller - Digg. If you do that, then you can be sure, that your website will be found organically by the search engines.
A new site isn't going to get 2,000 visitors a day unless you pay for advertising. There is no way around it, you have to take your time.

Getting traffic is probably the difficult most subject, if don't want to spend money and effort to it. But Stumbleupon, digg etc helps.... Start with socialbookmarking, get 10 killer article you will get traffic definitely... also see how many people are "adding your site to their favorite'.....if 50% then you are on right track....need to improve a lot..though....
It depends on the site. Getting 2000 visitors a day on some websites can be relatively easy on some websites. Where as on others it can be incredibly hard.
I think you have narrowed it down a bit by mentioning the only way on achieving that many visitors is by paying for advertisements. You dont need to pay for advertising to get 2000 visiotrs on a new site, there are backdoors (secrets) in getting traffic pretty quick, you just need to know them I had success when i found a backdoor in getting traffic to my site if i wrote tutorials, mainly on Photoshop. I wrote a few tutorials in a short time on my blog and posted them on sites like good-tutorials.com, a site which users can submit there latest tutorials, users are then redirected to your site via clicking your tutorial. This little knowledge is still now a very successful technique for traffic.
I know plenty of them, 95% are a waste of time on the terms of quality traffic, and quality traffic is what's important. Tutorials/articles/bookmark traffic only last so long, especially if you don't have a site that someone wants to check often. With that being said there are easy ways to get traffic, but if your looking for long term traffic that consistently converts, then either advertise (smartly) or be patient with the search engines.
Either take the time to rank high in Search Engines or buy advertising on high traffic sites related to yours

Writing something useful is really great at getting visitors. Example is writing a tutorial. It can be about anything. I've written a tutorial on modeling ironman in 3Don my blog and that generating 30 visitors per day. I've no doubt the number will go down because ironman happens to be a recent movie also! I've also create some vector silhouettes free for people to download. That's like 5 per day. I must say that my site isn't very popular because there's no focus. Every little bit helps.
