Hi, I was looking for domains, and found a certain one with some history. See below for details.

Is registering this domain beneficial in any way?

it's a .net. All the others are taken (.com, .org, .info, .biz, and .us)

    Thanks!

What would be beneficial about it... Its just another domain on the internet thats been dropped.

If your looking for domains with good history...You are probably better off getting one that has not been dropped.

Well, what about the fact that ALL other primary extensions are taken (.com, .org, .info, .biz, .us, ...)

Its a dropped domain.. nothing important behind it. It would be up to you to make it valuable.

    OK. Thanks...

One more question, though, will it hurt me in any way the fact that it is dropped?

If you're not planning to develop it, then I don't think it will benefit you.

Forget the history.... does the domain itself have any value? Generic keywords? If yes and you feel like it's worth the $5-6, go for it.

You having plans to develop it already makes it (IMO) worth the money. Might as well take a risk!

Is the .com developed? or .org? if not then do what you want with it.

The .com is redirected elsewhere, and the .org is parked.

PS: archive.org if you don't know. You can see what the domain was used for in the past.

The only thing that matters about the name is only the quality of the name.

It's... good enough. There is a reason why all TLDs for this domain are taken!

I beg the differ.. Sometimes when I register a domain I will register all the TLDs for shits and giggles. I have a few that arent the best names in the world but I own all the TLDs for them.
