What do you guys think the main reason for refunds are. Is it a poor product, or sales copy that leads people to believe the product is something that it's not. Any ideas or experience?
In my opinion those buy through by paying paypal ,asks their money refund and they pre-plan when buying the product to ask refund.
I think most refunds are form products that dont offer or do what they claim they can do. Since my start with clickbank I have sold almost 30 items, and only got 2 refunds, both of those for the same product, its a Wii download product, oh yea i only sold 2 of them and got 2 refunds. I dont put any work in promoting that product anymore , but yea there are the people that are planing on a refund before they even buy, and they suck!
Twice I have tried to promote new products, only to have the first sale refunded. Kind of makes me second guess. My main product now has a 1.5% return rate, over 340+ sales, and it doesn't look any better than half the stuff on clickbank, so I guess are there products out there that are just garbage, and does that hurt the rest of us?
I think there are a many reasons, but probably three most common are: 1) buyer sees money back guarantee or is buying through paypal, never really plans on paying and not asking for a refund. 2) Sales page is full of false claims, or product is pure marketing and very low end when its actually purchased. Leads to disappointment 3) Poor affiliate pre-sell, convinces buyer that product is amazing and possibly not at all what it really is because affiliate has never purchased and seen actual product. Makes a lot of false claims.
That's a good one, I never thought about affiliates overselling a product due to the fact they don't even really know what the product is. Is it customary for publishers to give a review copy to affiliates?
I really think some publishers ignore refund requests. Or make it far harder for people to ask for a refund. That's the only thing I can think of as to why some of the products I promote (which are absolute garbage) don't have higher refund rates. I think few people will actually go to the trouble of contacting CB for a refund - but a lot more people will contact the publisher. --- As far as to why people ask for refunds - one of the biggest reasons when dealing with eBooks is that they somehow thought they were getting a "real book."
You sir make a career out of refunds, we have spoke about this before and you have been busted. Do we really have to call your mom up again ? You remember what happened last time you did refunds using her paypal account, she sent in a check for DOUBLE. Just stick to ripping off peoples WOW accounts like you are soo good at.
