I have a really powerfull brand new server and I need to use it to convert some family videos becasue my pc is too slow. I posted this on scriptlance and the average bid was $100, lowest was $75 and highest was $125, but the fees for scriptlance were too high. Here is what I require: - Be able to activate mulitple file conversion from .avi to .flv - A form that will require me to enter in the .avi url source and a title (so that I know what is being converted when completed.) - The quality of the .flv should be around the same as the .avi and the same size as well. - Progress of conversion if possible. However progress of the conversion is not required, but I need a page that will show which files are still converting, so that I don't wait for another 6 hours to see that the conversion is stuck - On the page that shows the progress of conversion, also show if the file has been successfully downloaded. - If possible send me an email if the conversion is stuck - Send me an email with the url of the .flv, title and description upon completion. - The .flv file name should be randomize, and not the same as the .avi I also need the installation of this script and 2 other scripts and set up of cpanel on the dedicated, but should not take more then 10 minutes. - Willing to pay bonus of $10. Please post your best offer and time required to complete project.
Is the pcntl_fork command usable on your server. If it's not I probably wouldn't be able to do this with the functionality you're asking for.
In any case, I'll do this job for $80 and should be able to get it done within 48 hours. However, I should tell you beforehand that getting both a similar quality and similar filesize when converting from avi to flv is probably going to be impossible (it would depend on how the avis themselves are encoded), and as I said before, you'll end up with a cruder system if your server's PHP installation isn't pcntl_fork capable.
It's an unmanaged server purchased from the data centre so everything should be possible. As for the .flv conversion if I have a file that is 1gb is there a way to keep it at 1gb only?
It depends on how the video is encoded. If, for example, it's h264 avi video (in which case it's very well compressed), keeping it at 1 GB is going to require either losing a lot of quality, shrinking the video's resolution, or both.
nobodynowhere was unable to do it due to time so if anyone else wants to take the position please post here. Regards,
also depends on the final quality of the FLV. if you wanna maintain the AVI quality (both video and audio), don't expect much difference in filesize.
