Hi, I haven't been on here in a bit and noticed firts of all, my private message inbox is filled with spam of "Make $250,000 overnight!" etc from users like: sadxjnkar camilist gregoryk.stanley ---------------------- But I want to see if anybody had looked into the whole Cuil SE thing yet? A lot of the results I noticed are similar to Google on some listings, but the order is not the same SERPS, it scatters them around the first 3 pages. I noticed that instead of measuring page by page, they claim to be able to do a relevancy test across the 'depth and breadth' of a site in relation to a queried page keyword. So I'm wondering if this can open up older exploits like say generating a million pages on keyword and then blocking the Google bot from those pages. That would give the mass 'depth and breadth' for the search relevancy, you would rank #1 on every keyword (by including 1 million generated pages). Has anybody beaten Cuil yet? and do you have ideas on how it could be done. I wouldn't feel bad about it - its pretty much our job as web dvl, programmers and SEOs ..to TRY to break it, and beat it - That's what made Google so good. You beat their search engine, and get rewarded for your efforts by top listings for a short time. lol So far, i noticed I have a front page listing on Cuil , but its really not one of my stronger site wide keywords. Yet the more relevant and dense keywords are not showing in first page SERP. Whats with their images that accompany the listings ? almost all the thumbnail images of sites are wrong and seem random generated by keyword image pool that Cuil is running. Anybody have algorithim or site tactics theyve been thinking of to challenge the Cuil se?
none of sites are there in the first page in cuil they are thee in google and yahoo lets c how popular will this search engine will become
I cracked it, it was easy. If you search for "Small Name Proxy", then my proxies like zyou and etc (four letter .info) proxies will show up on the first page.
Did it, and it doesnt rank anywhere, therefore your statment made no sense jvfconsulting. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=search+engine&btnG=Google+Search
cuil sucks, it won't be around long when you search for Topeka Kansas, the capital of Kansas, you get a listing for a page that if clicked, you'll download a virus!... *at least the few times I tested it* worthless IMO
Cuil, lots of mouth advertising, if they had placed some adsense into their homepage, they could definetely make a couple of thousand bucks already!
Busting the algo will take time. As of now its difficult to do if you are base it off the assumption that the machines holding the indexes & the machines running the algo are overloaded.. Thus, tainted results.. Maybe, this is just a little presumptive.. But, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt seeing how they are in top 500 in Alexa this month & 25 million didn't buy them too much as far as hardware goes.. In the least they haven't gotten the grid computing down to a science for their uses.
I do not like the CUIL interface. The random placement of images next to sites is just creepy. My site is on the front page for several stock market terms and the images they put next to my results were weird and off putting. Maybe their business plan is to put decent images next to sites that pay them and crappy/creepy images next to sites that don't.
