I have an affiliate account with hostgator, but havent pursued anything yet. I have a guy who wantd to buy one of my websites and wants some input on where to host it.

If I send him to hostgator with my affiliate link and get him to sign up qwith them, then transfer the site to his account (site is not hosted at hostgator), will I really get paid $100?

Also, what if I sold a few websites and rexommended hostgator through my affiliate link, then transfered the site to thier hosting account, would I get payed $100 each time?

Of course you will get paid (it will likely take 2 months before you receive it), that's what affiliate marketing is.

You'd be paid every time your affiliate link is used by someone to signup for a new account. I'm not sure if you will be paid if the same customer opens additional accounts.

Check out their affiliate software, it's kind of suck because sometime it will not credit the referral... I tested out already.... You need to do the same to find out for yourself before you spend time promoting them.
