new search engine 'cuil'

this is really useful information, i found for new search engine.

 

they would never persuade me to convert from google

 

The pictures are not only pretty random I have a bunch of results in Cuil for varied clients but not a single a correct picture. And noticed competitors result has a picture of another competitors CEO and there logo on it.

 

I think it has a great layout...you not only get to see the results in a different manner but you also get a small thumbnail.

However, it is true that the search results are not perfect but I am sure that they are working on it.

 

Maybe I need time, but I prefer Google and Yahoo design..

 

i'm seeing a fair amount of traffic FROM cuil on my sites, so that's all I care about. (human hits, not bots)

 

examples? I would be very interested as its alexa rank last week was over 1.5mn, and this week its sitting high at no.846!!!

search results seem really bad to me. I dont think this SE will make it very far

 

Looks promising to me. It brought out some results that Google did could never have. I had posted on a site about 10 yesrs back and I found that in the search. Could be bad as it would get irrelevent results but looks good so far!

 

I have PR5 site thats heavily indexed by google/yahoo/msn , when i searched for my .com name - i wasnt listed on the frontpage.

 

Yeah my site is PR3 and ranks number one for key phrase "Affordable Graphic Design", on google, yahoo and msn. Nowhere to be found on cuil

 

Cuil is doing great so far.... I know Alexa aint a big deal in ranking but it can show you the basic status of any site and yesterday CUIL's rank was 135.

Hadn't heard about this engine, didn't return that good search results. But I liked the pictured search though..

 

SERP looks cool, but its another google wannabe, it has alexa of 1,090,384, Thats OK, But yeah... It won't work that much

How many times have we seen someone try to pose as the 'new google', and fail miserably. I'm not a fan of the results I see, perhaps they need some time.

Magazine style results, cool-ish, but not enough to tempt me away from Google. How long will it be before there's a FF plugin to show google results cuil-style?

 

I think it's pretty crappy in its current state. No relevance or anything similar to the powers of google's search.
