Your right it does need to stop.

But the world changes fast, especially these days. 100 years ago England was hanging homosexuals, and now they publicly allow them in the armed service (something which the US still does not).

Changes like these - naturally other countries follow suit.

Really I think the only worthwhile change is going to come from Iranian lawmakers unless some western nation like the USA topples their government before then, which is entirely possible in the future as scary as it sounds. I don't look forward to WWIII.

4,000 gays have been executed since 1979. Meanwhile 50,000 children starve to death per day. Personally, in all honesty, I don't think it's a dire situation.

You wouldn't think it's a dire situation, You don't live there. For those hanging from a rope i would imagine it's as dire as it gets.

I personally wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Iran to realise the error of their ways.

Some people are just apologists for some horrific practices conducted in the name of religion. webwork seems especially dedicated to defending Islamic practices, good, bad, or otherwise. It seems a bit odd that someone would go out of their way to defend the killing of homosexuals.

It's only dire for those who choose to practice homosexuality in a country that has a death sentence.

It's the same for child molesters in Iran, you molest a child and you die - do you have any pity for these guys?

Truth is relative. What's considered right and wrong is dictated by the culture we live in. There are many different cultures in the world -- we shouldn't try to force our ideas or culture upon any other countries BUT we can however influence them to a large degree.

    Truth is not relative.

You are entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your own reality.

Many would argue on the point that truth is relative, or that perception is reality. It all of course depends on the person. Your reality is no more true than my own, and vice versa.

But of course everyone is entitled to their own realities, that's the beauty of life.

Reality is entirely what you make it.

Yet, to a certain extent your upbringing and your childhood has already molded what your reality is. But this is entirely subconcious.

    This reminds me of something.

The other day my dad was telling me about a tribe that has a big celebration when a female member of the tribe turns 16. All the men of the tribe then have sex with her, and from this none of the children of the tribe know who their true fathers are.

This is something that I'm certain most of us would deem disgusting (and it is), yet this is the way they live and its entirely acceptable to them. This is their reality, it's what's normal - it's their culture.
