Hi, I have a Logo design contest for a client of mine. Here are his requirements: Vector based, JPEGs fine for posting, but the final needs to be delivered in vector, format editable by Photoshop (I know Photoshop isn't vector, but he wants it to be a Photoshop friendly vector format). Logo will go on a white background, so it should be designed accordingly with transparency, etc... The logo will be promoting his site: TroyBroussard.com (current "generic" site is being redesigned, don't look at it for guidance) He is looking for something *somewhat* along the lines of the armandmorin.com site. His name (branded into a logo) on the left with a logical division/separator and the ability to put a tag line on the right. He will not be including a photo. Size requirements are two part - the left portion which would contain the branded name/logo would be 300px to 400px (max) wide by 90px tall - but please show your design ala armandmorin.com with a "separator" and tag lines on the right so I can present the "whole" picture to him - 800px by 90px Any font will have to be from the 1001freefonts.com so that he can use it to do the right hand side tag lines and have it tie in visually. Just to be clear, what you're designing would the entire 800x90 header, but the "branded name logo" on the "left" equivalent of the armandmorin.com site (minus the photo) needs to be able to "stand on its own". colors & design should be professional and elegant as opposed to fun and glitzy - but looking for something with more flare that the armandmorin.com look - something a bit more catchy to the eye. Deadline is 5:00pm pst August 4th. I will pay $60 via PayPal after receiving the final logo file (as an editable vector format). That's it! Thanks,
I'm looking for something that is more broken up - "troy" and "broussard" more visually different and a contrasting to each other - I don't want it to look like just "words in a neat font" but a more of a logo...
On your second option with "Troy" in red, I like the "Broussard.com" half of it. I don't care for the Red or for the design of "Troy" - I'd like to see a totally different look/style for "Troy" than "Broussard" - I want to make them stand out. One Techy look - one elegant, etc... Broussard has a nice look to it, but see if you can do some variations on the "Troy" part... I would rather see some complementary colors like different shade of blue, steel gray, etc... When I said "contrast" in my earlier post, I should have explained better - I didn't mean contrasting colors so much as a difference between the designs. Look again at the armandmorin.com design, maybe you'll see what I'm talking about (but his is to mono-color and doesn't pop enough)...
I think you're onto several things I like, maybe some more variations, etc... As far as colors goes, either the option on the left, or the blue option... I'm not quite sure which "style" I like best (on the left) - the top "logo" or the written out text. Both of them need some changes though. I like the approach, but they're too hard to read... Maybe you could play with that a little bit. Also, more of a contrast between the font styles would be beter. Keep the style of "Troy", but tone it down a bit and try some stark variations on "Broussard" See my other comments in the thread... Thanks!
Of these two, I like the top one better. Could you: 1) get rid of whatever overlay you have on Troy that is putting texture on it 2) try super-imposing troy behind/on top of the broussard 3) make the B in Broussard a little bigger Thanks
I really like this design. Can you just show me show color variations? The shade of blue is just not ringing true with me... Looking for a little more sophistication in the color scheme - maybe a two-tone (the tag in a complimenting color?)... Try some variations - I really like the design... Also, not super fond of the font for the TroyBroussard.com address at the bottom - maybe something a little easier to read and bump of the font size of the "T" and the "B" in the TroyBroussard.com just to make it a tad more legible - not too much, just a point or so... Thanks - great design...
katesrobyn, I like the "Troy", but the "broussard" font is too similar. Can you, 1) change out the "guy" to a couple other image variations - this will be a financial, wealth building theme... I don't want cheezy but classy images... 2) try some different fonts for the "broussard" above the large "Troy" - some very different font styles - not italic, not script, but something in a contrasting style with the "Troy" to set them apart. 3) Capitalize the "T" and the "B" in the www.troybroussard.com link and remove the "www." and also maybe size up the "T" and the "B" just one point size or something to emphazise them...
designerboy, okay, I like the "broussard.com" from post #8 - it was bolder. I'd like to see some different color variations though (on the .com that appears "purple"?) - I don't like this shade or the teal you introduced in post #15. So, now the question is how to introduce the "Troy" in a different font/position that complements the broussard.com portion of the graphic. I like what you started in post #15 (the top variation), but again, I don't like the teal color and honestly I don't care for the color swipe idea. I like the position of Troy - but the font, size, color weight, needs to be played with to come up with something more appealing. Also, some image or logo to the left would really set it off... again, this is a financial/wealth building theme so something that ties in with that but is elegant, not a cheezy graphic... something that conveys sophistication.
