This is a humble question to all who are experts in SEO domain. Is there any way to focus the SEO targeting to a single country specific section inside a global portal which has common sections for their global products & services & also has country specific section(s) for products & services for that specific country ? Say for example, we have a large global portal like http://www.globalportal.com & a country specific section like http://www.globalportal.com/pages/abcland/index.aspx Here 'abcland' is the country name & this schema is common for all the countries in the world where 'globalportal' is having business. Let's assume that I want to promote / target only those page which are specific to 'abcland' country. As per my little knowledge goes, there are certain things which may work. 1. If we can modify the Title & Metas of the pages inside 'abcland' section. 2. If we can modify the content to insert the phrases with 'abcland' which will enrich the content semantics, focusing it more to 'abcland' . 3. If we can modify the Text in the Navigational Link to make it country specific, though the chances to carry out those changes might be very less. 4. If we can gather one-way / reciprocal link from sites operating in 'abcland'. I have mentioned 'if' everywhere as most of these kind of sites are dynamic in nature & mostly are run/controlled by a global CMS. Now, there are possibilities that the CMS won't allow ( perhaps technically incapable of allowing ) the changes only specific to a country. The second issue is, if it allows also, the SEO advantages gained by these endeavors mentioned above might flow to the Parent section / other country specific sections. Is there any way to control / restrict that ? Plainly speaking, if I am permitted to implement the SEO changes I have spoken above to the pages pertaining to the country 'abcland', I would expect to see only those pages in Google SERPs while trying to search for a "Keyphrase specific to 'abcland'" which I have targeted. It is accepted also if the results come in Google country specific searches as per my requirement. If the parent domain URL (http:// www.globalportal.com) appears in the result I'll consider my efforts to be a failure. The same goes if any other country specific page appears in the result for the search phrases I am targeting. I might be incorrect but Google Webmaster Interface may not offer any help in targeting a country-specific section inside a global domain. One can target the whole domain to a specific country/region but inner sections can not be targeted perhaps. Please Please help. I am feeling that my knowledge is challenged in this respect. Thank you all in advance. Best Regards, Vijay simha reddy.A
Sure you can, but bloody hard work. 1. Break down the country/ region into cities or provinces and use an auto metatagwriter 2. Concentrate link building against websites that are in your chosen region. Ring them! 3. Host in your chosen region ideally on a dedicated with an IP similar to those already seen as G to be hosted there 4. Make sure you are on google maps etc and regsitered there 5. Local media advertising so that the click locality is set. i.e if the region was london advertise in a London paper and if clicks are coming from London IP's the Galgo with learn from this and set a regional context A lot of work
