Have you guys tried to create/buy unique games for your sites? That could be a great traffic magnet.

How do you seo your arcade-sites?

Just as the arcade site market, the arcade site script market became saturated too, because there are numerous good free alternatives. I guess if you can not overtop them as it comes to features and offer the script for a really competetive price, you could have success.

Just a heads up, the next Arcadem Pro release (version 2.709) includes Smarty templates. I know a lot of you have said that the main problem with Arcadem Pro was it's theme system, and I listened to that feedback and fixed the issue. do buyers of the 2.6 version ( that paid for it just last week ) get a free update?

 

Absolutely. I will give upgrades to even those users who purchased 2.0 almost a year ago.

 

Wanting to find out about a good and reasonably priced (i know that may be a contradiction) - Dedicated Server for arcade sites - any help would be appreciated.

You can't beat softlayer.com for dedicated servers. You can get a dual core Xeon for $120 a month. Find a coupon somewhere and you'll probably get some free upgrades thrown in. I've used them for mass proxies sites on 3 occasions, and they definitely offer the best bang for your buck and great customer service.

Newgrounds is the main site for people adding new games - you could get them from there.

Armor games gets new games often.

If you dont mind not having the "latest" fresh from the coders games, addictinggames has 10000's of games -- so you could take a new one from there each week.

Make sure you give a link back to the developers site if you take them, then it wont really matter.

If you want 100% new -- pay somone to make you one, you can get a total custom one for a few $100. -- then, when people rip your game off your site, and you've submitted it to newgrounds and people take it off there -- you get all the backlinks at the start of the game.

I've made a few arcades, made a few custom games, and got them getting a few 100 unique visitors just from the backlink clicks built into the game.

So basicly, you gave a couple hundreds of dollars, just to get a few hindred targeted visitors? That sounds pretty expensive advertisement. I guess it is more for branding purpose and for long term visitors, isnt it?

 

Just started my own games website, decided to go the manual route and add all the games manually, hopefully a good idea to make it unique.
