Hi, I wanted to ask about "it" on Google and how to handle it? Example: I have a company website that advertises itself as "business IT solutions" or "business it services" or "business it support", now when you type business it solutions/services/support you don't really get anything related to IT ... try it yourself, How would you tackle SEO for websites with "it" or "and" in their phrases?
Most of the SEs don't link short words and there are lists of them around. I solve this by placing a hyphen (-) between them "Business-IT-solutions" or "Business IT-solutions". Others use underscore (_) but this isn't working. I also saw that some of the Directories are using plus (+). Hope this helps...
Doesn't help much, but at least you tried mate. The problem is, I know that SE's don't pay attention to "IT" etc, the problem is I want to rank for that word, because that's the companies area of interest...
You need to try find that keyword which people are using. The keyword which you have decided will not work till people are also using that keyword. try Google adword and Word tracker with your keyword they will suggest you that which key word you should use.
First of all, if you must choose your keywords wisely, try more effective keywords. Those which are having more search volume and low competition will be good. And if you still target keywords like "business it solutions", IMO you will have to do all the same things that you are doing for different keywords without "and" or "it". You are not targetting a single word "It" or "and". You are targetting a keyword phrase like "business it solutions".
I know, but another phrase is "business it services" and when you google that nothing comes up, only some random stuff, even thought I do have this phrase, it somehow gets ignored because of google ignoring "it" I do try to choose keywords wisely, problem is that google keyword tool etc gives you amounts of traffic globaly, I'm only interested in UK and actually in South East. I will try Google Keywords tool + google trends, maybe that will show me where this traffic occurs and which phrases are worth optimising for, even thought it's really time consuming.
These are good UK keyword research tools: https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/KeywordToolExternal https://account.uk.miva.com/advertiser/Account/Popups/KeywordGenBox.asp Hope it helps !
