    The ads are generated according to your site's content. If you change content, you'd change the ads. You can also block out certain sites from appearing in the ads.

    Also, you can change the APPEARANCE of the ads... in terms of colour and ad types (text, image or link unit). :)

    Unfortunately you can't control the font type...

    There's no way to say what ads you want as far as I can tell. I did have some weird off topic ads appear a few months ago but I've blocked those URLs from placing ads on my site. Like others above me have said you can adjust the background color/url/text etc to customize the look for your site.

    You can only change the appearance of the ads but you can not chose specific ads for your site/blog. Ads are generated according to your site/blog's content.

    No way... you can only control it if you have a very specific niche and have filters..

    The only way you can change the type of ads, as I understand it, is to change the content of the page (including titles, meta descriptions, etc). Even then, I think that the actual domain name will have some impact on the type of ads being displayed

    Ads by Adsense are contextual ads meaning that they are automatically chosen based on the content of your site ;)

    Here's a hint:

    Want some ads about the COD4 game for the PS3 (as an example)? Create a page with the meta title "COD4 For PS3". Add the same words within your meta description. Make the url http://www.yoursite.com/cod4-ps3. In the first sentence of your article/ post, make sure you include these same terms.

    Get it? :)

    Shoot me your url if you care to. I'd be happy to take a look.

    Could it be that your content is just about such a micro-niche that there aren't many available ads for it????

    You can't control which ads appear but you CAN do two things:

    1) Filter out competitors ads from showing on your site (in Google's AdSense settings)

    2) Insert some code to tell Google WHICH part of your page you want it to use to find appropriate ads.

    ------
    Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you'd like us to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site's content. By providing us with your suggestions, you can assist us in improving your ad targeting. We recommend that only those familiar with HTML attempt to implement section targeting.

    To implement section targeting, you'll need to add a set of special HTML comment tags to your code. These tags will mark the beginning and end of whichever section(s) you'd like to emphasize or de-emphasize for ad targeting.

    The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format:

    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    You can also designate sections you'd like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:

    <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

    With these tags added to your HTML code, your final code may look like the following:

    <html><head><title>Section targeting</title></head>
    <body>
    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    This is the text of your webpage. Most of your content resides here.

    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->
    </body>
    </html>
