In your opinion, what's the most overrated website on the net? I vote YOUTUBE in one regard. Others are twitter, break, and craigslist. What are yours? (Not that I am some awesome programmer. I just thought it would be a good discussion.)
I'm going to along with you and say Twitter but that's only because I haven't tried the service so I'm not addicted.
Facebook most def.. and all the whore 2.0 sites like del.icio.us & digg.. it just seems to be all the tech geeks who go about pumping these sites.. but I gotta defend Youtube I think its provided countless hours of distraction from work..
Twitter is no way overrated. It is one website that brings me so much traffic to my blog. The problem is a lot of people do not know how to use it correctly. I have to admit, it took me a while to catch on.
Facebook really is. It's crap, it's possibly the worst social networking site of it's type out there and people seem to love it.
I think Google has kept up with it's critics. Can't really say that it is overrated and It also helps me earn money. Can't say it's overrated.
lol, and you think you know more about the internet than me? But really, what is there on facebook that is so great, unique and/or they were the first to do effectively? Friends? Done before. Events? Done before. Image sharing? Done before. Video sharing? Done before. Groups? Done before. Applications? Done before (although not so widespread, and now other big social networking sites are catching up on that). A good layout? Nope, they don't even have that, that depressing blue and white thing really needs a revamp. and that was me just going down their main menu when you sign in. So basicly, they have applications going for them, thats about it. If they don't do something soon they are going to go into a depression, people will realise that there are much better sites out there and leave like they should have done ages ago.
