Is it a good idea to start a freelancers site ? I know there are hundreds of such sites. But how can I make one and get it success ? Any idea ?
You have to advertise it a lot, and take a smaller % than the other websites (I'm assuming that's how they make their money). Also, think about viewing the seller's work first and checking it's up to scratch. This would mean that the buyers get top quality work, and, as far as I know, no other freelance sit does this. It would take a lot of moderating, but I reckon providing you could get the buyers, a lot of quality sellers would be interested
I came across this when I thought about it: http://www.kubelabs.com/kubelance/ It might interest you if you decide to go ahead and make one.
Yes I would go with one niche. Also with this type of website make sure there are no flaws at all technically or legally with your website because both could get you in legal trouble because money is being exchanged by two people and you are almost considered a moderator or middleman.
I don't think you could ever have to many freelance or outsource sites. You will be doing all marketers a favor and a great service. I think you could start out well just by posting in multiple forums. I do not see many Freelance niche signatures.
i've been thinking about this for a while now. i would be willing to start something like this with you. hit me up on messenger if you want to brainstorm.
in my honest opinion,i think that these sites are extremelly saturated,if you want to make sucess, you have to make a site different of others
I think this is very possible, however you are going to have to bring something unique to the table. People can get 1000 quotes from designers, they need something different, something that they want. You have picked a saturated Niche, but it can be extremely profitable if you do it correctly. Good Luck
From all this suggestions I am planning to start a freelance site with a Niche. My other doubts are :- What Should I use : forum scripts or a freelance script ? How all I should market them ?
Freelancers will find you but would join and stick only if you provide something better than others. Do some research on your would be competitors' sites and look what they are missing.
as well as doing competitor analysis you should be surveying users of these sites about their key frustrations, what needs are being unmet, ideally what they would like etc. then just give them what they want
Do you think a freelance website could survive on advertising only? Not thinking of starting one - just wondering.
I think the site would have to be heavily heavily moderated. I recently accepted a bid for almost 3K on joomlancers only to discover the guy never officially accepts the project until work is completed. That way if he can't do it or you're not happy there is no way to leave him bad feedback. (his good feedback is why I accepted him anyway)
trying to not say what has been said already... but here's a list of what I would think needs to be done with freelance sites: 1.) Make it completely free from fees (on both employer and employee sides) 2.) Be sure to have a team to work on the site 24/7... awesome customer support, and create a quality control team/dept. to keep the scam/spam out. 3.) Have a more noticable award/ranking system for good/bad freelancers AND Employers... that way those will be able to see easily how to trust/ not to trust. 4.) Offer tools like Odesk, that can be qualified tests to awards for acheiving certain goals. There so many more... just PM me so we can chat more
But without taking fees, surely your efforts would not be worth it unless you had thousands of users and really good stats, especially if you are putting in work at every waking moment???
I have started a freelance site about four weeks ago. The problem I am finding, is to get people to come and advertise their service on the site, and I am doing it for free. Get over that problem and sure it will be a success.
Don't forget to put the most important thing. You portfolio. If you have good portfolio, absolutely you will get customer
