Depends on what you are selling. Plimus was conceived mainly to be used for shareware sales and distribution while 2checkout handles general virtual products or services.

Yes, I know and that is why I said that Plimus was conceived for shareware but they have evolved since that time.

Plimus does not charge a sign up fee but 2checkout does. Plimus has a sliding scale of fees but 2checkout uses a more fixed formula much lik what Paypal offers.

Plimus also allows customers to pay using their personal bank account amongst from the other commonly available payment options.

All in all, both are good payment processors and you cannot go wrong with either one of them.

Well, Plimus trusts that you provide real information, no reason not to. Besides for the first month, they will monitor all your transactions very closely and they will be manually processed to ensure that you comply with the rules and once you are certified clean, your account would go on automated processing.

Take a look at EC Suite as well, we're similar to Plimus and 2CO but what we do is a little bit different.

We focus on digital/downloadable products as well as subscription, or recurring billing based business models.

EC Suite also helps getting new businesses on their feet when just starting in the online market. We have no setup fees, no monthly fees, the only charge you'd ever have through us is on a per transaction basis. We come equipped with a number of features in addition to processing as part of our e-commerce toolbox as well. Including, digital storefront and shopping cart software, hosting, and a unique price point tool called regional pricing.

Both are very good payment processors. I use Plimus, simply because it handles a large array of payment options.
2CO just now started to accept PayPal payments aside from credit card payments, correct?

Both companies are very reputable and really you just have to look at the fees and decide what is more feasible for yourself. :)

Plimus has this 'Transfer to Vendor' option which allows you to transfer money you have in Plimus balance to another Plimus' merchant without any fees. This works much like the Send Money option in Paypal.

At the same end, if you have affiliates, Plimus allows have them receive a cut for selling your product in the form of an affiliate commission or to pay royalties to whom is entitled to when you sell your item.

They also allow you to set up a subscription payment plan for your services.

You can also create Discount Coupons which you can use for promotional purposes and you can even use their system to mail out newsletters to your existing customers.

    - Payouts are weekly, either by wire transfer, or a check through the mail or Fedex.
    - We can integrate with other shopping carts, it's really as simple as adding a link and/or button code.
    - We cover the cost of chargebacks, when they do occur, on your end it would just be like a refund.
    - We accept international clients, there are only a dozen or so countries world wide that we don't accept business from.
