Hi firend 2 months back I was shifted my blog http://core-media.org/videoblog/ to http://www.coredigitalcameras.com/digital-cameras/ And added 301 redirection in http://core-media.org/videoblog/ Before the redirection http://core-media.org/videoblog/ This was having PR 4. But now http://core-media.org/videoblog/ This is also PR 0 and http://www.coredigitalcameras.com/digital-cameras/ this is also PR 0 May I know what is the problem I have done here. Is 301 redirection is bad for search engine I loose PR and business this days. I sell digital cameras there but the sale is nothing now. I am not getting what I will do this days. How I will survive. Any suggestion and help will be appriciated. Thanks, Pradip
This is because the domain CoreMedia.com had a PR 4 ranking. However, the domain coredigitalcameras.com only has a PR 0 ranking.
I am not clear with your sentence can anybody please explain a little more. So in future I should not repeat the same. Thanks, Pradip
301 redirects don't carry pagerank across domains. Why would you think that? The new domain doesn't have any pagerank, so of course that page doesn't either. Your old domain, core-media.org, still has pagerank 4.
You'll have to wait until Google recognizes your new domain name. This may take 4-5 months since pagerank was just updated on the weekend. Also, for future reference you should post pagerank threads in the google section of DP.
But my videoblog folder of core-media.org was 4 before why it ranks also become 0?? Is that all due to 301 redirection? Thanks a lot for all your help. Pradip
When you go to the videoblog folder on core media, you are instantly redirected. There is no videoblog folder anymore, as far as your browser is concerned, because you can't navigate to it. If you disable the redirect and go to the page, it will probably still have PR4.
