Their price scheme is not stupid, it is pure scam.

Yahoo is offering low cost domains for $1.99 the first year. That's the bait. Then when they bill for $35 on renewal thats the switch. Yahoo is simply trying to exploit people that do not actively manage their domains....

Shame on Yahoo. I will not spend money with them anymore...

I can't believe it! Yahoo charged me $43.95 for "Services and Merchandise", on 4 domains. Wait, the best past is: They did it after I successfully transfered all my domains to GoDaddy, and I canceled all my plans with them.
What am I missing? If this was some legit charge, it should go for all my domains, why did they do it just for 4?

maybe it's silly but how much would cost me to transfer 2 year old domain from yahoo to name.com ? If it expires in December will I have to pay for these few months? How does it work if I want to move my domain that I paid for to another provider ?

Don't know about name.com, but Godaddy is $7

No, any reputable Registrar gives you credit for unused time.

Depends on the Registrar. Normally you must unlock your domain and generate a key (security code). That key is given to the Registrar you are transferring to, and they initiate the transfer. After about 5 days or so the domain is transferred.

The transfer aggravation is certainly worth not paying Yahoo's extortion fee.
